How to remove 199 windstar electrical/audio door connector?

Instructions:
1 Disconnect the trucks negative battery cable.

2 Unhook the clip for the door's manual window crank with a hooked tool behind the handle (or rub a rag behind the handle), or for a power window, pry off the window switch assembly from the door handle with a trim stick and disconnect its electrical connector.

3 Pry off all small panels and bezels on or near the door with the trim stick, including the triangular panel on the mirror mount and the bezel surrounding the door handle.

4 Unscrew and remove all of the mounting screws for the door's inner trim panel then pull the panel out to detach the clips. Disconnect all remaining electrical connectors on the door panel.

5 Peel off the plastic water deflector sheet from the door.

6 Press down on the speaker's upper mounting tab while grasping the speaker, then tilt the speaker out of the door frame and lift it off the tabs on the bottom. Disconnect the speaker's electrical connector.

Connect the replacement speaker to the electrical connector.

8 Secure the speaker to the lower tabs and pivot it into the mounting hole, clipping it in place with the door's mounting tab.

9 Press the plastic shield back into place on the door.

10 Reconnect the trim panel onto the door, connecting all needed electrical connectors and engaging all its clips, then apply its mounting screws. Reconnect all smaller panels and bezels to the panel.

11 Reinstall the window crank or control switch with its clip or electrical connector.

12 Reconnect the black battery cable onto the negative terminal.

it is on a plastic card in the owner manual packet and on a sticker on the module itself. Usually under the dash behind the center console.

1. Remove the utility compartment. Center console.
2. Remove the four pin-type retainers.
3. Remove the utility compartment.

• If equipped, disconnect the power point electrical connector.

Removal and Installation
NOTE: LH door is shown, RH door is similar.

1. Disconnect the battery. For additional information, refer to Section 414-01.

1. Remove the front door window control switch panel and trim covers.
   1. Remove the door screw cover.
   1. If equipped with power windows, remove the door window control switch and disconnect the electrical connectors.

3. Remove the door handle screws

1. If not equipped with power windows, remove the screw and the window regulator handle.

1. Remove the screws and the front door trim panel.

6. Remove the door speaker Remove the screws.
Disconnect the electrical connector.
Remove the door speaker.
7. Disconnect the exterior rear view mirror electrical connector

8. Remove the nuts and the exterior rear view mirror.
Feed the power mirror wiring through the opening in the front door.

9. To install, reverse the removal procedure

Inoperative Right Front Door Switches OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves replacing the right door interior handle. The loss of ALL functions may occur when attempting to control them from any of the switches located on the right door due to electrostatic discharge through the right door interior handle. The right door interior handle must be replaced to protect the switch module from static electricity. The new handle is more resistant to electrostatic discharge. MODELS:
2004 - 2008 (CS) Pacifica SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The vehicle operator may experience a permanent loss in ability to actuate ALL of the following functions from the right door switches: ^ Power door locks. ^ Right power mirror. ^ Right power seat adjustments. ^ Right power window control. ^ Right heated mirrors. ^ Memory functions associated with the listed systems on right side (if applicable). ^ Loss of communication with the right door switch module to Scan Tool: DIAGNOSIS:
Perform a "Hard Reset of the right door switch module. This may be accomplished by removing all power (including memory keep alive power) from the right door switch module by unplugging the module power connector. Alternatively, vehicle power may be interrupted by removing the negative battery terminal when the ignition switch is in the OFF position. If after performing the hard reset functions of the right door switches return perform the Repair Procedure.


PARTS REQUIRED:
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. 2. Remove the right door trim panel
3. Remove the door tweeter speaker. Refer to the service information in TechCONNECT. Refer to 8 - Electrical > Audio > Speaker > Removal (Fig 1). 4. Remove the power seat switch. Refer to the service information in TechCONNECT. Refer to 8 - Electrical > Power Seats > right Seat Switch > Removal. 5. Replace the right door interior handle, p/n 05170261AA, as described on Mopar Instruction Sheet K6855628 included in the handle kit. 6. Install the power seat switch. 7. Install the door tweeter speaker. 8. Install the right door trim panel. 9. Connect the negative battery cable.

Before replacing the motor I recommend that you verify that the switch is functioning properly. Replacing the switch is considerably easier than replacing a window motor.
Here is a description of what to do to replace the electric motor in the driver's power window on a Chevrolet Cavalier.
1. Remove the interior door panel. There are two screws in the arm rest and four around the sides and bottom of the panel. Disconnect the window door lock cable from the switch on the door.
2. Remove the sound system speaker by first disconnecting the electrical cable and then removing four screws.
3. Remove the plastic water shield. The shield is held in place with an adhesive that behaves like bubble gum. Pulling the plastic shield away from the door causes the adhesive to become stringy like bubble gum. The nice feature of this is that some adhesive adheres to the door and some to the shield so that during reassembly the shield sticks well to the door. During removal use a razor blade to cut the strings to help reduce any mess. Some of the shield was caught under the door panel armrest support so that it was necessary to cut the shield to completely. Rather than cutting the shield just folded it up and taped it to the door. Be careful of what comes in contact with the adhesive because after a few hours of contact the adhesive sticks to almost anything. It even stuck to the wax paper placed over the adhesive to keep it from attaching to anything it came in contact with while removing the window regulator/motor assembly.
4. Remove the window glass. There are two nuts holding the window glass to the window regulator. It is easiest to have the window positioned about half way up to allow access to the two nuts. The window glass can be pulled out of the door by lifting the rear edge of the glass first.
5. Disconnect the electrical connector from the window motor.
6. Remove the window regulator and motor assembly. This will require an electric drill and some drill bits to drill out the 5 rivets. There are two bolts that attach part of the window regulator to the door. These need to be removed as well. Once the rivets and bolts have been removed the entire assembly (window regulator and motor) can be removed through the large opening near the rear of the door. It may not look like it will fit, but it does. The most difficult part of this repair was locating rivets to replace the rivets that are removed. Be careful to find replacement rivets that are the same length as those that were removed because at least two of the rivets could interfere with the moving parts of the window regulator if they are too long.
7. Remove the window regulator from the motor. There are three rivets that hold the window regulator and the motor assemblies together. Remove the rivets by drilling them out. These rivets can be replaced with screws from the local hardware store if you prefer not to use rivets.
8. Attach the new motor to the window regulator assembly using rivets or screws. Use stainless steel machine screws and nuts along with a lock washer under each nut. Choose whatever attachment method you prefer.
9. Lubricate the window regulator with white lithium grease.
10. Reinstall the window regulator/motor assembly in the door.
11. Plug the electrical connector back on the window motor.
12. Reinstall the window glass. Insert the front edge first to make this easier. Reinstall the two bolts holding the glass to the window regulator.
13. Test the new motor by opening and closing the window to ensure that it is operating properly. If not, resolve the problem and continue.
14. Reinstall the plastic water shield.
15. Reconnect any electrical connections.
16. Reinstall the sound system speaker.
17. Reinstall the interior door panel. Remember to reconnect the power lock connector.
The job is complete.

If you are getting a dinging then it is more than likely the drivers door.On my '98 the only door that causes the ding is the drivers door.

Removal & Installation
Motor - Front Door

1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
2. Remove the window control switch
3. Remove the front door trim panel and watershield.
4. Tape the window in the full UP position.
5. Disconnect the window motor electrical connector.
   NOTE Support the window motor while removing the window motor retaining screws.
   
6. Remove the window motor bolts and remove the motor.
7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Rear Door

1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
2. Remove the window control switch.
3. Remove the rear door trim panel and the rear door trim watershield.
4. Remove the door speakers.
5. Tape the window glass in the full UP position.
6. Disconnect the window regulator electric drive.
7. Position the connector for the window regulator electric drive inside of the door.
8. Remove the bolts.
9. Separate the window regulator electric drive from the rear door window regulator.
10. Remove the window regulator electric drive from the door.
11. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

9. Loosen the window regulator arm nuts and pull the arm from the mounting position.
10. Loosen the bolts and remove the window regulator.
11. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Section 15-03: Speakers 1997 Villager Workshop Manual DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION Radio Speakers All vehicle sound systems are equipped with radio speakers (18808) located at all four corners of the vehicle. The radio speakers are mounted in the RH front door (20124) and LH front door (20125), as well as behind the quarter trim panels (31012) in the rear of the vehicle. The Ford Super Sound Audio System has the addition of a subwoofer mounted in the RH quarter trim panel.

Radio Speakers, Front Door Removal

1. Remove the front door trim panel (23942). Refer to Section 01-05 .
   

Trim Panel(s), Door Front
Removal

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable (14301) if equipped with power locks or power windows.
   
2. CAUTION: Use care when removing the front door inside handle escutcheon (22620). Failure to do so can result in damage to the component.
   Carefully pry off the front door inside handle escutcheon by inserting a standard 1/4 inch screwdriver between the top rear portion of the front door inside handle escutcheon and the front door trim panel (23942).
   
3. Remove the three cover caps and front door trim panel screws.
   

1. Remove the one front door trim panel capped screw from the door pull handle.
   
2. If equipped with power windows, remove the door pull handle. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
   
3. Slide a flat-bladed tool behind each of the retainers and twist the tool to disengage the front door trim panel from the front door (20124).
   
4. Remove the front door trim panel.
   

Door Electrical Connections
Removal and Installation

Removal

1. Remove the Front Door Trim Panel . Refer to the removal procedure in this section.

3. Electrical connector.

Install or Connect

1. Electrical connector.
2. Snap switch into trim panel.
3. Trim panel.

Remove the door panel

1. Remove the side impact bolster.

1. Detach the door speaker (if equipped).

1. Disconnect the speaker electrical connector and remove the door speaker (if equipped).

1. Detach the door latch release handle.

1. CAUTION: Do not touch the adhesive surface as re-bonding will be impaired.
   Detach the watershield.
   • Using a suitable plastic knife (disposable cutlery), cut through the Butyl strip to enable the watershield to be peeled back.

1. Remove the door glass top run retainer.

Vehicles with manual windows

1. Install the window regulator handle.

Vehicles with power windows

1. Connect the door glass operating switch electrical connector.

All Vehicles

1. Align the regulator clamp with the access hole (power window shown).

1. NOTE: Position the regulator operating cable to one side when drilling the retaining pin, in order to prevent damage.
   Detach the door glass from the regulator clamp.
   1. Using a suitable electric hand drill and a drill bit 8 mm, remove the retaining pin.
   1. Push out the retaining sleeve.
   1. Remove the door glass from the regulator clamp.
   • Discard the retaining sleeve.

1. Support the glass, lower the glass and regulator to the lowest position.

1. Position the lower part of the door glass top run outside the door.

1. NOTE: To aid removal of the door glass, stand on the inner side of the door. Make sure the glass is removed from the inside of the door.
   Remove the window glass.

Installation
All vehicles

1. CAUTION: Make sure vise jaw protectors are used.
   NOTE: Make sure that the retaining sleeve is central in the door glass.
   Attach a new retaining sleeve and retaining pin to the door glass.
   1. Position the retaining sleeve in the door glass.
   1. Using a suitable vise, press the retaining pin into the retaining sleeve.

1. Install the window glass in the door.

1. Attach the door glass to the regulator clamp.
   • Push the door glass firmly down to engage the retaining pin and retaining sleeve into the regulator clamp.

1. Position the lower part of the door glass top run on the inside of the door.

1. Close the window.

1. Install the door glass top run retainer.

1. Attach the watershield.

1. Attach the door latch release handle.

1. Connect the door speaker electrical connector (if equipped).

1. Install the door speaker (if equipped).

1. Install the side impact bolster.

1. Remove the window regulator handle.

Vehicles with power windows

1. Disconnect the door glass operating switch electrical connector.
