Most european cars only give colored lights when maintenance is due or a malfunction is detected. since the car is running "sluggish", may want to get a fualt code pulled from the ECM to help find the problem.

SOURCE: peugeot 106 independence brake lights

Ok man, i don't if that helps you, but when i tried it in my 1989 peugeot 205.
Try this: put on the hazzard lights and that will test some of the brake light circuit.

I don't know exactly the engine code but may be this 205 documents can help you.
The alternator belt or ancillary belt need to be removed before you can proceed to cambelt.

How do we time a 1998 1999 106 peugeot diesel car

if i remember rightly then their are holes in the timing gears which you push a 8 mm drill bit through to lock the gear wheel for the timing pump and the camshaft into position ,the crankshaft keyway points to the top of the engine ,make sure you turn engine over 360 degrees after fitting the new belt by hand to ensure the valves clear ,look at the gears and the back behind the gears for the locating hole ,think the cam is 90,to the right and the pump is to the left m,sorry iam and suffering from old timers so memory is not what it was

I have a Citroen Diesel ZX19 Turbo. It is Very hard to start when cold and takes a two or three goes to start when hot.I have replaced Glow plugs with Bosch ones from a Citroen dealer only a month ago plus...

Did the poor starting coincide with the cambelt change ,as it sounds like you may have a camshaft/fuel pump timing issue. If the pump/camshaft/crankshaft are not locked in place when you change the belt they can easily move a tooth or two.If the problem didnt coincide with the belt change then it might be a fuel problem.

New timing belt fitted 2000 miles ago by garage after cambelt had snaped causing damage to engine. garage fixed engine and cambelt. auxillary was not replaced and shredded causing damage to new cambelt...

NO.a garage doesnt even have to ask you what "extras"you want(aux belt)although if they asked you would you have agreed as "most garages are a ripoff trying to fit items that are not required...."the majority are not cowboys but get tarred with the same brush.

Orange engine light with K on it on the dashboard

Sounds like a common error to me, when doing the clutch it is easy to knock the crank sensor when putting it all back together. It may be damaged or dislodged.

It is the Black plastic part at the top front side of where the gearbox meets the engine, 3 wires going to it.

They are very common so also very cheap.
