Sudden electrical failure while driving

Driving along, All the dash turn signal and high beam indicators lit up, then the car stopped running. Car won't even turn over, fuel pump doesn't run when the key is turned and nothing on the dash works. Driving lights turn on with the headlight switch. Dome lights come on. Is there a fusible link to the ignition system? Big fuse somewhere.

SOURCE: Brand new...100 miles on it, but what happened?!

cant tell you whats wrong. obovously some kind of wiring issue. but DOCUMENT DOCUMENT DOCUMENT and take it to the dealer every time for warranty issues!!! If they cant fix it you can lemon it out after 3 failed attempts. i found a free lemon lawyer online and lemoned out a '04 blazer for a leak that started right after i bought it. i think problems have to start within the first 2000 miles so you are well within that restriction!!!!

SOURCE: Sudden shut down

Hmm, this sounds like a electrical problem involving the ignition control module (computer) or the body control module.  They may not be bad but they are not getting power.  This could be due to one of many connection or relay problems.  Unless you know how to diagnose electrical problems yourself, you will need to get it to the shop.

SOURCE: 2002 Jeep Wrangler intermittent total electrical system failure

sounds like a battery or ground connection problem , disconnect and clean the inside of the battery cables and the posts, tighter securely . If that doesn't do it remove the other end of the negative cable and clean the cable end and the metal that it bolts to.

2002 Suzuki XL7 - DRL headlights won't come on - not fuses

yes heat is always a cause, heat wrecks all things many makes faster (electric)
DRL love to fail is this up in canada, , it is not law USA to have it.
he law here ended 2010 on DRL junk.(proven not to work)
many cars have a DRL module and the pins on it look burnt
and is bad. ALL DRL on suzuki seen by me to 2000 did that
no sure 02
DRL has relays to fail or even hand brakes switch too.
the 2 rules on DLR are
hand brake must turn off and lamps on, no kind of brake failure allowed,
and
no GEN?/ALT/Batteyr lamp failure in cluster
this last bit of logic allows driving further DLR off, and dead alternator in car..
or bad relays. H.L

Hi beams, low beams, taillights, and dash lights stopped working.

Might want to check the fuses if you haven't already.

Issue with dash lights dimming while driving,

If the battery and alternator tested fine. I would have the charging system rechecked when engine is hot and at high rpm's. This way the checks are being done as if you were driving and driving for a long time. Alternators can work fine when cold but weaken when hot or stop working. This problem is not rare but only is seen occassionly. Unless it was checked at an electrical shop the average shop doesn't run these tests for they don't see the problem often enough to automaticly run them at all times. Good luck and let me know how you make out.

DRL and High Beam do not work right on Honda Accord EX 1998

Some time back I found some data on a similar website suggesting that the Day Light Running circuit board, just under the steering column, developed cracks in some of the soldered joints. Your high beams should also be affected with loss of day light running lights.
Resoldering repaired the continuity of the circuits. Ours is now working quite reliably. Some of the defective areas developed slight brownish discoloration, that's how I was told to recognise the areas to be resoldered. Hope this will help you solve your problem.
