I tried finding the ac relay or magnetic relay for the ac on a 2010 Toyota Corolla can anyone please help?

The compressor has a clutch, the clutch engages to a rotating pulley by the use of a clutch. The clutch is an electric solenoid, or plunger.
This clutch, or solenoid clutch gets 12 volts from the controls. From a thermostat, thru refrigerant pressure switch, thru coolant temperature switch, thru ambient temperature switch, fuses and control switch.
Where is the ac magnetic relay? i think it's the clutch you are refering to.

Ac location relay

If the Freon is low then the a/c clutch will not cut on.There should be a fuse box under the hood and the relay will be in it.

Hello, welcome to FixYa. Please allow us to assist you.

You most likely have a bad AC Magnet Clutch relay. The issue you speak of is some`thing I see rather often,

Toyota is aware of premature failures on these relays, and have issued a Technical Service bulletin to rectify this condition.

Suggestion: Head on down to your nearest Toyota dealership's parts department. Purchase a new AC Magnet Clutch relaly, and install it in the relay box in the engine compartment, on the driver's side. Under the lid of the relay box is the diagram for the components. You will be looking for a relay that will be printed as AC MAG C, on the underside of the lid. Pull the old relay out, and press the new one in. It can only be installed one way.

Thanks for choosing FixYa for assistance.

Hello. You have posted a great question here, one that other Celica owners may also have. The solutions is as follows:

You have a very common issue.

More than likely, you have a bad AC magnet clutch relay.

Toyota is aware of a high failure rate from these relays, and has issued a technical sevice bulletin regarding this.

You need to replace the AC relay, with the updated relay.
The old relay part number is: 90987-02022.
The updated relay's Toyota part number is: 90987-02028

Contrary to what your dealer is telling you, the relay is in the relay box under the hood. Look for the 'AC MG Clutch relay'.

Replace the relay, and you problem will be cured.

Air condition

You either have a bad AC magnet clutch relay or a bad AC revolution sensor. I'd replace the relay first. Common failure.

A/c wiring

The Red/White comes from the AC amplifier into the AC magnet clutch, from termianl 13.

The White/Blue wire goes back from the AC magnet clutch to the AC amplifier, terminal 14

The Black/White wire goes to two places, via a splice splice, 1 is to the relay box, Fan Relay # 3, and 2 is to the AC Magnet Clutch Relay.
