The dealer I bought it from took it back and ran all the checks. He couldn't find anything wrong and reset it. A week later it came back on. I haven't noticed any difference in the performance of the car in any way. I have seen on many threads that this seems to be a common problem. I'm ignoring it and just getting it serviced regularly. Fingers crossed I don't live to regret it!

The amber engine symbol has now stayed on in the past day on the right of the dash. What sensors is this connected to and is it expensive to fix?

The warning lamp you described is called the "Check Engine" light.

Have a qualified Hyundai Service Technician properly diagnose your vehicle.

Best advice I can give.

2000 Hyundai accent. Trunk open warning light on dash looking to disable this warning on dash to prevent draining battery again. Have removed light temporarily from the trunk to slow down the drain however...

You should have a switch in the trunk area or on the trunk latch it makes contact to ground to turn on the light in trunk if you disconnect the switch should take care of it temporarily.

Warning light on my hyundu accent engine shaped warning light appeared on dash. what is the most likely problem.

This is the CEL (Check Engine Light) and will come on if the ECU gets information from a sensor that is outside of it's normal parameters (not getting the signal or reading that is within the range that it is expecting)

You need to get the codes extracted with a scantool and this information will point you to the part of the system at fault.

So, in short, it could be one of a whole lot of things and is impossibleto guess without the DTC. (Diagnostic Trouble Code)

Engine light on 2005 Hyundai accent

Engine Light 'ON' is a warning light from the inbuilt system. As far as your car is driving good, no need o worry about the light.

This is from the electronic control unit signal. This can occur due to some sensor performance present in the engine. Take it to the nearest dealer. They have a diaganosis unit to fix it easy.

Faulty sensors in my hyundai accent.

Whenever the 'CHECK ENGINE' light comes on, the ECU (Engine Control Unit) sets a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC). These codes identify the particular engine management system which caused the light to come on.
You'll need to use/find an OBDII (On-Board Diagnostic) Scanner to retrieve any code which have been stored in the ECU computer. Afterward, we might be able to help you DIAGNOSE and perhaps eventually fix the problem.

Air bag warn light Engine warn light Car runs great . Why are these signals coming up on the dash ?

dear friend-plse note that the airbag warning light will not affect the preformance of your vehicle.the engine management light has nothing to do with the airbag light, what saying is that you got two different problems,i think you need to disconnect the battery for a while, reconnect and check if lights is of, if it re-appears plse then hook up to a scanner to read the code"s

Warning light

Usualy the check engine light reports a malfuction in your engine performance system, it coulb be a misfire, bad sensors, vaccum leak, you need to have your engine code read from a garage or an auto parts store that offers the service for free.

Air con smells

If it is the check engine light then something else is wrong. Typically no warning lights are associated with the A/C.
