SOURCE: golf iv 1.6 8v cylinder head torque settings

hi to tighten you have to do it in 4 stages as follows
1st stage 40nm leave 5 mins 2nd stage 60nm leave 5 mins 3rd stage 90 degrees leave 10 mins 4th stage 90 degrees then you are done i will try put order on here i hope this works as follows
10 4 2 6 8 front of engine back of engine 7 5 1 3 9

in that order hope this helps

Torque settings for main and big ends for golf 4 1.6 valve

It always helps to include the engine code... The following torque settings are used on the folowing engine codes:
ATN, AUS, AZD, BCB
This is for the Golf 4 1.6 16 valve engines
Mains:
32 Nm
65 Nm

Big Ends
30 Nm
90 Degree turn.
