I bought a new battery two weeks ago. The old one was a mere year and a half old. I've heard stories about 525 heaters draining batteries. This is sort of a seperate issue from my main complaint/discrepency.
When I turn either the AC or heater on, I get no circulatory air from vents no matter what amplification of fan adjustment setting (button on dash that turns fan faster or slower). I checked fuse box in glove box where the heater fuse (fuse slot #76 that is a 40amp fuse according to fuse call out card) the visible fuses sequentially go from 1-25. #75 is Auxillary Fan Fuse (50 amp) Neither 75 or 76 are present. I checked the trunk's right side fuse panel also (no such luck) If it's not a fuse, what could it be? Perhaps a blown heater/AC fan motor? Any help or ideas are appreciated!!!!!!!!!
Hedgehog is a final stage unit located on passenger side deep behind the radio. Replace my batt before fiding the post. did my self and part cost about 70.00 bucks but area is very tight. The fuses 75 and 76 are located behind the glove box and very difficult to get to and see. I am trying to find the solution to that as we speak.

The fuses 75 and 76 are located behind the glove box you will not see then after you drop the fuse box in the glove compartment. The fuses are underneath the glove box, you have to go under the front panel passenger side underneath your feet remove the cover underneath. Use a flashlight, there are two very large fuses side by side.

I have a 530d and have had the same problem with the heater not blowing. The cause turned out to be a device called a "hedghog" which was replaced at £100, apparently this is a common fault, hope this helps you.
The 'hedgehog' is what needed replacing. the part was like ~ $75. I had it installed for not much. I THINK I might have been able to replace it myself with a little swearing and a tight fit. The fuses are underneath the glove box, you have to remove the cover to get to them and have tiny hands.. use a flashlight, there are two very large fuses side by side.
the hedgehog gets heat cracks or fractures in the casing. that's it. spend the $120 to replace your part... and don't worry any further. It's better than waiting for bmw to charge way too much to tell what's wrong ($130 just to check for the problem).
The airconditioner inled frame just behind the heater it looks like an radiator. It is positioneed behind the heater motor and that will be blocked with dust you have to clean that to let the air go through

I had the very same problem, there isn't any heat coming out. And I can't figure out the fuse layout.
I have the same problem. My heat or AC doesn't work at all. I checked the fuse box but could not tell what fuse to pull or replace.
i can feel heat from the vents but the blower has stopped. there is no noise or flow. i checked fuses, put them back in, and the fan worked for another day... then stopped. Is it possible to fix on my own? BMW quoted $1400 for replacing the blower fan motor! Yipes!
