Listen under the hood next to fuse box for a cliking sound when ignition is turned. If you do not hear this click you many need a starter relay.

99 saturn sl1 replaced new starter car wont start no crank battery is good new spark plugs aand boots. Car still no start no crank has dash lights and dings

You still have a problem with your starter. Sounds like you missed the wires going to the solenoid which engages the bendix.
Recheck the wiring.
It could also be a bad starter from the parts store. Won't be the first time.

Can't find the starter on my 1998 saturn sw1, need diagram

find the battery, just under the battery is a large bell shaped contraption between the engine and the transmission, it is called the bell housing oddly enough. the starter bolts into the bell housing on the back side of the engine. it is under the intake manifold and is a ***** to get to. buy a rebuilt starter and take it to a shop which has a lift and lots of extensions and universals in their socket sets. behind the starter in the engine block is a crank sensor, while your starter is out have the guy replace the crank sensor, another common saturn fault.

1998 1.9l dohc sw2 car will start when cold but not when hot starts fine after it cools down

When the vehicle is hot, does the Starter turn the engine over? If not, your starter is being affected by Heat soak, and you must replace the starter. If the starter does turn over the engine, you have a sensor that is failing due to heat soak, or your ECM is failing when hot. This is much more difficult to diagnose since each sensor will have to be monitored to find the faulty sensor.

It's easy, jack up the car put jack stands under it, remove positive battery cable, on the back of the motor closes to the fire wall is the starter ( get under the car, round cylinder), remove the two bolts and drop down to disconnect positive wire and remove exciter wire, re-install in reverse

98 saturn sl1 won't start

If the problem occurs after the car has been driven long enough to reach normal operating temperature, the problem is the starter. If the 'no crank' occurs cold, retest the battery.
