Moisture collecting in the heater duct work and when the fan for heater is turned on it would spread evenly through out unit.
Put a little bleach in the vents and this would kill mold.

Hi...I was driving home from work tonight and my check engine light (it's color is yellow, if that is important) suddenly came on. My car is a 1996 Toyota Camry LE. I had the oil changed on 10/10/2010. ...

probably not. The computer has detected a fault. This may or may not cause symptoms, but it certainly could be affecting your mileage. What you need to do is go to your local parts chain and ask for a free scan. When they scan the car (only takes a minute), write down the codes. They will start with a "P" and have 4 digits after the P. Please send these codes to us, and we can provide repair advice to fix your car. OK?

Burning clutch smell yet clutch not slipping

The problem is quite possibly brakes that are not releasing properly. It may be the emergency brake cable hanging up and keeping the back brakes on.

The other possibility is that the front calipers are stuck or sticking.

Brake linings are made out of the same material as clutch material.

If you are careful not to burn yourself, next time you smell burning clutch/brake, you can put your hand on each of the wheels in the center and feel them for heat. If they are warm/hot, you can tell which one(s) are causing the problem.

If you need more help post a comment.

Thanks,

Tim

Smell in my caravn

it may be a coolant leak in your heater core, but coolant has more of a sweet smell than a fishy one, and you would notice a dampness on the passenger side floormat. it is probably just a mold in the air filter of the blower motor and needs replaced
