Hi all, I have a problem with my Grande Punto sporting diesel (2006), the car struggles and often wont start after its been parked for a few hours. also sometimes when it wont start the coolant temperature spikes, the needle on the dials rises to max, displays a message saying " Engine coolant temperature, stop and switch off engine immediately", the needle then drops straight off and is fine. The starter motor is has been replaced as has the coolant temp sensor. the battery has the correct output voltage as does the alternator but the problem still persists. The only way to start the car when all this happens is to push and bump start (which is becoming tiresome to say the least). If anyone has had similar problems or knows what wrong with the car i would be very grateful for any help. Thanks for your time guys
Use higher starting amp battery and you may need a new starter fiat know all these problems !!!!
