Trunk lift broken

Both sides of the the trunk automatic lifts have broken.

Where can I find those struts, I forced my truck lift open and broke them.

These gas filled struts have a "U" shaped clip on both ends of the strut. Using a small flat tip screwdriver, pop these clips outward (not all the way out). Lifting the trunk lid slightly will allow you to remove these struts and install the new ones.

Getting in the trunk

if latch does not work ,you will have to get in from back seat,if it does not fold down look at floor level front of rear seat for a release for seat,if you see nothing try pushing back on bottom front of seat and lifting up.Back of seat should have fasteners on each side,remove and lift up on seat back,should have some accessto get to pull emergency release in trunk

Loud clunking when accelerating

Do the obvious checks. Look for something loose in the trunk. next check things like loose diff pinion. see if you can push it up in the diff housing. check for rear engine mount rubber broken. Try to lift up the tranny. Next check for a broken engine mount on the left side of the engine.

ther lift gate gass struts there about 30 to 45 apeace at the part store there the hydrolic lift mrchanisms and a verry common problem if you go to the part stor they will know exactly what you need they are simple to replace pull the clip with a small screw driver or pick then remove and replace

Normally there are a steel clip on the balljoint where the lift connects to the ball. Clip it off and with little force the connector should come from the ball.

This part is call Trunk support lift, Napa has these, part # 8194178, to remove at each end there's a mental clip that fit around the end, remove clip out and support will pop out of mounting support pin, be car full trunk is very heavy, used a stick to hold trunk up.

Car trunk problem

Open the boot with the key and ask someone to activate the lever while you have a look on the latch in the boot. You should see the cable moving if not, it might be broken or just disconnected.
