2002 Saturn Vue Transmission problems.

I have a 2002 Saturn Vue 4 cylinder with the CVI transmission. Is there a swap that can be done. My trans is shot and the replacement cost is crazy for this transmission. Any ideas? Are there any reasonably priced continuously varible transmissions out there? Help!!!!!!

WHAT IS THE TRANSMISSION FLUID FOR CVT 2.2 L FWD

it's very special, and if done wrong, dooms the trans-axle
all this is covered, in the FSM
read it in the book and on most cars the CVT has very very
special needs and procedures for changing lube.
some, it must be done a s special temperature. < yes.

ever seen and FSM. (for doing factory service)
it shows all the steps, 1 by 1.

the lube is at GM. dealers.

Notice:
Use DEX CVT fluid (P/N 22688912) only. Use of
any fluid other than DEX CVT will
cause internal trans=axle damage.
Important:
Add one unit (10 CC syringe) of DEX CVT additive (P/N 22697447) whenever an unrecoverable loss of fluid occurs during an authorized limited on vehicle repair. Minor fluid
loss, such as minor drips that may occur during the fluid checking procedure, does not require the addition of the additive.

I have a 2002 Saturn vue an sometime it wont pick up speed

Is it a 4 cylinder engine with automatic? Could be that cvt transmission. They are problematic. Or could be a partially plugged catalytic converter in your exhaust.

Torque converter 2002 saturn had it checked and read stuck/off

you can check to see if the torque is stuck on or off with a dealer (saturn/GM)scanner butother than that you gonna have to do it this way,,,if the car starts and you put it in drive and it doesnt stall that means you not lock in TCC torque converter clutch,,,ive never just reaplaced a converter,,,its gonna need a trans rebuild or a new trans,,and the extended warranty is no longer valid since gm dropped saturn, they are not liable anymore,,,,sorry ,,

2nd, 4th, and reverse went out in my saturn, now stuck in 3rd, burning plastic smell?!?!?!

Your Vue could have several engine/trans configs; the GM 4-cylinder with 4 speed trans or VTi variable trans; all 2004-2007 V6 Vues' used a Honda drivetrain with very little issues. There were countless problems the the VTi transmission- my guess would be that's what you have and there were several recalls reguarding those issues; I would check with a dealer quickly...

Slave Cylinder

If you do not see it on the outside of the transmission I bet it's in the bell housing.

2002 saturn vue checking transmission fluid

Absolutely if it is an automatic transmission. You do need to use the right type for your product. If you do not change oil yourself, the lube shop should check the trans with each oil change while they do the rest of the work.
