It will shut off on the first time i turn it on sometimes unless i take off and dont let it sit. also when im at a light if i dont put it in nutural and feed the throtle alittle bit it seems to die on me and i dont understand what the problem is.. it sometimes can hold an idle for awhile (30+ seconds) other times right after ive stopped. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME FIGURE THIS PROBLEM OUT. im a poor person and dont wanna take it to the shop unless i really have too
No read the fix below.
Engine stalling issue at low speeds This problem
is commonly caused by a dirty automatic idle speed control valve and
throttle valve. Buy a can of throttle valve cleaner from NAPA or
Carquest (made by CRC chemicals) and spray it into the air intake
while the engine is running, use up about 1/2 the can, engine will
try to stall hold the speed up, shut it down and let it soak for 30
minutes, restart and blow out the remaining fluid, shut it down and
disconnect the negative battery cable for 5 Min's to reset the base
idle control

This could be caused by the transmission range selector switch on the tranny, no sure how without the wiring diagram, but seems to ring a bell from my 20 years at a ford delaer.

check for a small screw that the throttle mechanism touches when you move the throttle, get someone else to open and close the throttle and you will see which part moves. you will only need to turn it 1-2 turns to make a difference( the engine needs to be warm) If the one you screw doesnt make a difference screw it back to where it was by counting the turns.
Any mechanic could adjust the idle in about 10 seconds, and couldnt possible charge very much.
