I do not know much about cars but I once had a similar problem. There is a plug that controls the fuel going to the pump. It is usually housed under the dashboard. Have you checked that? I cannot remember the name of it. Good luck.

I can't seem to find the plug you are talking about.. I didn't think it would be petrol though I don't know myself that's why I am asking for help.. But there isn't spark at ignition leads even after I have replaced distributor/coil pack? I have no clue

SOURCE: 93 mazda mx6 (v6) no spark.

Coil resistance is not a good way to determine if the coil is good or bad. It might still need replacing. Check to see if your getting a pulse signal to the coil. You can do this by hooking a milivolt test light to the trigger wire and ground. If it doesn't flash as you crank the motor, check out your pickup coil in the distributor. Some of them you can change. Some you have to replace the entire distributor. Sometimes oil will leak into the distributors on certain models which use an optical pickup. If this is the case, change the seal to fix the oil leak and GENTLY clean the optical sensor and photo wheel.

VSS or vehicle speed sensor aka cam sensor or crank position sensor. Test the battery and alternator. You should also check for blown fuses, bad wires and grounds on a car as old as yours. If you find it's getting spark and fuel after further testing, check the timing belt. It could have slipped or broke even if it was changed recently so either pull off the cover or at least do a compression test.

SOURCE: 2000 mazda 626 wont start,is turning over,fuel

if you have spark at the plugs you need to check fuel pressure at reed valve on fuel rail, you will need at least 55psi to fire injectors,

I have a Mazda astina 323 94 model it cranks but won't start doesn't seem to be any spark from the leads I have recently changed the leads , Im guessing it's the coil and distributor cap please help

1 remove the cable from the coil to the distributor.
check this agains earth, when you turn the engine over.

if spark, suspect rotor arm is not setting spark to each spark plug lead.
open distributor and clean the rotor arm with a cloth or wire wool
not sand paper as this will take off too much and cause a problem

2 check inside distributor for moisture. spray inside with WD40 or equiventy water repelent.

3 if not spark at coil open distriutor cap and with ignition on, open and close points in distributor with a screw driver and check coil again against earth again if you get sparh, problem is points not opening and closing.

4 turn over engine with distributor cover removed to see if rotor arm is moving if not then cam drive to distributor is defective. this controls points and rotor arm.

if rotor arm turning and spark at points but no spark at coil suspect Low tension wiring or coil needs replacement.

i hope this was helpful

Mx 5 Eunos 1996 starting problems

After replacing the solenoid check the tips of the cables ending at the plugs. Hold it near the body and ask someone to turn the ignition key. You should see sparks from the cable tip to the body of the engine. If no sparks rhen you got to check the distributor and get the rotary contact point cleaned or replaced................sodeep
