There is a small plate on the tailgate door about center and a little to the right about2x3 inches. remove it and with your finger reach in through the insulation and you will feel a lever. that is the manual release. if it will not move the control motor is broken in the locked position. To change that you need to remove the panel on the door and the insulation mat covering it. It will cost about 90.00 bucks from jeep

I don't have a REAL solution....but I have the same problem....sometimes it opens and sometimes it doesn't. So far the best solution is a skinny 7 year old grandson who loves to climb into the back and hand up the goods!!

LOL!

I am trying to lock my tailgate for my Honda CRVEX 2015 with the tailgate button but it won’t lock How can I lock it? Thank you

Your tailgate may have a separate fuse not associated with the door locks. I would check for a fuse and location in your owners manual or go online in your browser and put in 2015 Honda CRVex rear tailgate electronic lock and it should give you some information on the operation and may contain whether if it is fused on a separate circuit.

How to open rear hatch on 2006 Ford Freestyle without handle

If it has an electric release or a cable release you will need to open it from the inside by use of the lever (cable) or button (electric) and the vehicle handbook will provide location details. If the releases do not work the fuse(s) might be blown or the cable broken near the handle.

If all has been tried in the car to no avail it will be necessary to open the tailgate by diverse means - in the case of an electric release it is common for the wiring to break where it passes from the vehicle roof into the tailgate and in the hope that is the fault it will be necessary to remove whatever trim is going to give access to either the electric release or the wires nearby and then provide it with a 12 volt supply and hope that opens the tailgate because if it doesn't it will mean manually manipulating the lock - not often easy for the inexperienced.

The cable of the cable release and the release itself is fortunately much more accessible as they are body equipment and not tailgate equipment.

Rear tailgate will not unlock

You will need to detrim the tailgate and manually access the latch mechanism and release the tailgate and find out the cause of the fault.

The rear glass on my 2000 chevy blazer won't release to open it what can i do to solve the problem?

there's a plastic actuator inside the tailgate that probably broke or at least came loose. You have to crawl into the back and release it. I ended up having to cut a little piece of carpet in the middle on the top of the tailgate area. Right where it fastens. You can manually release the glass with a screwdriver at that point. To replace the actuator, you need to take off the entire tailgate trim and metal underneath that to get to it. It sounds like a pain but trust me, not having the back glass be able to open or the tailgate area is much worse. It takes about 45 minutes to fix. The actuators are less than $10
