Camry Alarm System Activates & Shuts Down Car Power!

For what seems like no reason my car has been activating the alarm system, where my entire car's power system is out. Nothing works...and then the alarm starts going off. I try to switch the toggle switch but don't know what to do. A low battery? Maybe I should hire a mechanic to remove the alarm system? Help appreciated~

Dead deactivated factory car alarm Camry 96

It sounds like there may be an issue with the factory car alarm system on your 1996 Toyota Camry that is preventing the car from starting. If the alarm system is preventing the starter from getting power, it is likely that the alarm system will need to be repaired or replaced in order for the car to start.
If the Toyota dealership does not have the parts or knowledge to repair the old alarm system, it may be difficult to find someone who can fix it. One option you could try is contacting a specialist who works on older car alarms and see if they have any experience with the alarm system in your Toyota Camry. Another option is to try finding a used factory car alarm from a wrecker or online that is compatible with your car and installing it to see if that resolves the issue.
If you are unable to repair or replace the factory car alarm, you may need to consider installing a new aftermarket car alarm system. An aftermarket car alarm can be purchased from an automotive parts store or online, and a mechanic or an experienced car enthusiast should be able to install it for you.

Bypass security system

depends on design on unit, on most you can simply disconnect system power and youre good to go. other in line systems require un installing the unit. either way sounds like the system is causing more problems than its solving. i would suggest removing it entirely

Alarm malfunction

Are we talking about an aftermarket alarm system? If so, remove the entire system from the vehicle. (they are usually more trouble than they are worth.)

this happened to us when we got a new key and had it programmed with the car. anytime we locked the doors and opened them with the key instead of the remote, the alarm would set itself off. we took out the fuse for the alarm.

CAR ALARM ACTIVATES FOR NO REASON WHILE CAR IS IN GARAGE, HOW CAN I DISABLE ALARM SYSTEM AND STILL HAVE WORKING HORN

Try disconnecting your negative battery terminal overnight, this will reset the PCM and should solve your problem. The only other way to do this is to get a new security system relay installed in the car.

Toyota Camry 1994 No ignition think it may be alarm

disconnect the alarm system from under the dash.battery to starter direct will turn the engine over fine but ignition system still runs through your alarm system. It's also a theft prevent system so your car will not be stolen. The alarm went bad preventing your car from starting. That means putting the ignition wiring back to factory.

Alarm system won't shut off

You might try locking all the doors from the inside and then closing them all. Then try unlocking the car with the key itself (NOT THE FOB) manualy. Try a combination of these things, like maybe locking it manualy with the key itself too. Usualy some sort of locking or unlocking manualy with the key will reset the system. Its almost luike proving to the car that you are who you say you are.
