No overdrive engagement tacoma 2000

Question regarding this problem is. if the engine code p0171 has anything to do , preventing the engament of the tranmission overdrive on this toyota tacoma 2000.( we know the code p0171 refers to bank one running lean) the engine was chek for possible vacuum leaks, fuel pressure ,maf sensor, exhaust leaks and the o2 sensor was replaced.the engine runs fine , but this code comes on after it is erased.can you tell if this is possible for this engine code to affect the trans overdrive engagement.

I have a 96 Toyota Tacoma after the check engine light came on bought a scan tool. After scanning it it gives me a P0171 code, manual says that the system is too lean, I don't know where to begin.

A P0171 means that your Toyota is having trouble with a dirty or faulty mass air flow (MAF) sensor, or a vacuum leak downstream of the MAF sensor but this code can also signify a bad O2 sensor in the exhaust on bank 1.(the one closest to the engine on bank 1)
Also, P0171 code can be tripped by a plugged fuel injector, by a dirty fuel filter causing low fuel pressure, or even an exhaust leak before the first O2 sensor. Most of the time, the best way to respond to a P0171 is to try cleaning the MAF sensor and the lines running to and from it. This will often resolve this issue.Next is change the oxygen sensor in bank one and closest to the engine.

P0171 code

A code P0171 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
The MAF (Mass Air Flow) Sensor is dirty or faulty Note: The use of "oiled" air filters may cause the MAF to become dirty if the filter is over-oiled. There is also an issue with some vehicles where the MAF sensors leak the silicone potting material used to protect the circuitry.

There could be a vacuum leak downstream of the MAF sensor

Possible cracked vacuum or PCV line/connection

Faulty or stuck open PCV valve Failed or faulty oxygen sensor (bank 1, sensor 1)

Sticking/plugged or failed fuel injector Low fuel pressure (possible plugged/dirty fuel filter!)

Exhaust leak between engine and first oxygen sensor

Automatic tranmission not working on overdrive, tacoma 2006

The knock sensor fault may be preventing the transmission from shifting to OD. The main engine computer also sends commands to the transmission computer. Your transmission valve body is controlled by electronics.

2000 Toyota tacoma with code P0171.

You don't say if it is a 4 cyl or 6 cyl engine.
The code means the O2 sensor is telling the computer the engine fuel mixture is too lean and the computer can not make the injectors provide enough extra fuel to make the sensor go rich.
Reasons can be a faulty cooling thermostat, low fuel pressure, vac leaks, exhaust leaks, and other engine problems.

2000 volkswagen beetle will not shift into overdrive but runs good in all other gears. It shifts smoothly but overdrive never engages

sounds like an electrical problem with the transmission ...these transmissions are fully electronic and the gears are engaged by servo valves these are controlled by the computer.... if there is any problem with the engine or a few other things it will be put into safe mode and it wont engage overdrive ..it may need to be scanned to see if any codes exist in the auto trans ecm..

Code p1130 p0171

P0171- mens the MAF sensor is dirty and needs cleaned. You can get MAF cleaner at your local auto parts store. The MAF is located in the air intake just after the air filter
P1130- is more than likely a result of the previous code. It is in regard to the feul/air mixture ratio. A dirty MAF can cause this code.
Also, if you are using an aftermarket oiled air filter, it would be the cause of the P0171 code.

2000 Lexus RX300 6cyl 3L VVT-i "Engine Codes"!

The first and last code are your start and stop so you can ignore them the P1130 and P1150 are your two front oxygen sensors( pre cats ) bank one and two. Depending on your millage it sounds like it is time for a little maintence. Normally they should be changed at or around 60,000 kms
