I have a 200 venture, is there any way to check the BCM to find if it is ok?

In the last 3 or so years, things started not working. Now some things do and others dont. In a few months or so, that will change as it has before. I know the BCM operates a lot of the things and would like to know if there is anything/ any way to check it. I cannot change the security settings because the door lock button does nothing. Now the drivers window will not work. You can hear it trying to go up, but nothing on the down side. Getting frustrating..

Have tried the battery disconnect. Nope!. Don't really believe the window prob is tied in with the rest. Thinking it is the BCM but do not want to spend the money changing parts, would rather be sure.

Yes , but it involves taking the vehicle to a chevy dealer ! They would hook up the GM factory Tech2 scan tool . See if any codes are stored ,see if it will communicate with the tool . Should only cost about $26.00 buck .This isn't something for a non trained service tech. to mess with. The window not working is more then likely the regulater binding up . Would need to take door panel off to see what is wrong .

SOURCE: 94 Chevy Camaro-won't start

I would say you would have to take off the inside door panel and remove the mechanism and security switch to see why it is jammed in a locked position, even though you have unlocked the door the electric switch {maybe rusted} is still signalling a lock position, the switch may be located on the actual key barrel, but same check to see why its not moving into an unlock position.
hope this helps.

SOURCE: Venture van power door problem

It sounds as though one of the proximity sensors is faulty. Also try giving the tracks for the door a good shot of white spray lithium grease. The door may be binding enough so that the emergency reverse is kicking in.

Why does my blower fan stay on max with car off?

i will now read the online service manual to you.
https://eautorepair.net/Marketing/Default.asp

blower fan located where. dash heater blower fails
or radiator fans of some odd kind added later.
coolant fan or dash? there are 2 coolant fans and 3 relays to run them and all 3 relays, can fail and coolant fans blow for ever and ever. fuse 6 kills the relay coils. only, so if relay is welded fans blow endlessly. even if bcm is removed from the car.
on the other and the heater blower is 100% controlled by the BCM

so car engine starts and runs and drives ok right.
when did car last run perfectly> , or seen ever ?
service manuals for 88 cars are not easy to find
means real oem manuals, best. 35 years old !
no digital then ,just a huge paper bound book, remember?
holy moly this 88' has a body controller here, bcm , relic amazing thing.

2007 suburban no crank,no line under gear shift position.no light on 4wd knob and no signals

New or used BCM. Used BCM you have maybe a one in a thousand chance that a used BCM will run your vehicle. I have done it 3 times in 10 years or so. New BCM, it has to be programmed to the vehicle. I can do it, some other people can do it also. We have thousands in equipment to do this. Dealers can do it also.

2002 chevy venture ac heater module or head took

Very Likely so, but remember the unit also depends on sensors and the ECM and BCM to give input before it performs its operations. Further Diagnostics is recommended.

The security light is on all the time

Several GM products, including the Chevrolet Impala and Malibu, the Oldsmobile Alero, the Pontiac Grand Prix, and Saturn Ion, have issues with the Security light coming on. This is many times an indication of a failing Body Control Module (BCM). Initially, the Security light will come on then go off, progressing to a constant on light, before the car will refuse to start. Other symptoms may include erratic action of electronics, a clicking sound coming from the glove box, and the air conditioning failing to blow cold air. I recommend a shop that specializes in the electronic systems of vehicles to diagnosis and make the necessary repairs. They should keep the car until they replicate the symptoms described. A new BCM from GM should cost about $230; plan on another $200 for them to diagnose the problem, replace the unit, and program the new unit. The dealers quote between $700 and $1,100 for the same repair. My experience and the experiences I have read on the internet, indicate the new BCM should last only about a year.
