Unable to open the trunk any method. I turned the key to the left and set the lock to security i have learned. How do you take it off this position?

It can only be unlocked with the master key. If you dont have one you will have to go to a Toyota dealer and they can make one for you. Bring proof of ownership tho.

Trunk won't open

Lower the back seat and crawl into the trunk and see what the latch is doing when you activate the key fob. the trunk lid will have to be open to enable any repairs. Also an emergency release cable is probably visible (yellow handle) inside the trunk and will Open the trunk lid.

Which way do the headlight vertical adjustments turn to raise the beam?

Turn on your headlights and locate the two adjustment holes that have the adjustment screws inside them on the sides of each headlight. The top hole has the vertical adjustment screw and the bottom hole has the horizontal adjustment screw. Turn the vertical screw clockwise to raise the beam and counterclockwise to lower; turn the horizontal screw clockwise to move the beam right and counterclockwise to move the beam left.

'91 LS400, trunk will not open. key will not turn, electric latch switch clicks but won't open. valet lock in open position. Tried 1) disconnect battery, reconnect battery, use switch, push down on...

If you hear the sound of the electric latch switch, then it's working but stuck somehow. Just put the key in the switch and turn it to the right and then pull up the trunk or ask someone to help you. it will open. I tried it today and it opened with me. It was stuck from inside by some kind of a broken plastic pieces. Just removed it and now it's working fine. good luck

Can not open my boot on my golf Gti 18T with the key our with the fob.the key will only go in part way on the boot, but no problem when i put in the drivers door it opens all doors exept the boot

you are trying to open the boot with the valet key(check the flute running down the middle of the key)it will only do door and ignition not the glovebox/boot...you will have to use another of the three keys supplied.or the remotes if the bootlock is set to work with the doors(you can set seperately...)

I HAVE N REG VOLO 850 ESTATE,THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE LOCKING OF THE BOOT FROM THE ALARM KEY FOB.YOU CAN LOCK THE CAR MANUALLY WITH THE KEY,FROM THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR,ALL LOCKS GO DOWN BUT THE BOOT...

Its dirty, rusted or the rivets are coming loose. Open up clean and spray a little oil. If that does not help. Take a hammer and after removing the whole lock resecure the rivets with the hammer.
IT MAY ALSO BE THAT YOUR BATTERY IS NOT STRONG ENOUGH ANYMORE AND SHOULD BE CHECKED.

How to open boot from inside the car( cant seem to find button )

First of all
  • does it have an electric operated boot release button?

If it does , It probably needs adjusting to remove slack tension.
Trouble is its located.....in the boot....AARRRRGGGHH !! LoL
Although I own a V8 Holden Statesman, not a Alfa GTV,
An elec boot release is an elec boot release, Try what I do for mine.
Have someone push down on boot lid & release it , as you keep quickly hitting the button.OR have them sit on it.
Works most of the time for me .

  • IF IT HAS A KEY OPERATED BOOT
If key fails to turn quite enough to open the boot, Or not at all , then the barrel may need lubrication or replacement.

As electric boot release motors only have a small amount of torque & share the same mechanism as the key itself. Therefore a "sticky" lock will eventually result in the loss of cable tension

To Lubricate you lock ...( no pun intended lol )
  1. Dip the your key in some oil .Motor/Baby/Sewing/Tan/Cooking anything like that, just on the area that is inserted into the lock.
And insert into the lock , Remove & repeat over , whilst jiggling the key untill it will open

  • Or Use a spray product such as CRC or WD-50 with the small straw that inserts into nozzle.

If that fails , and you get cannot access the rear of the lock area from inside the boot to manually operate the latch, Then youll need to force it open and replace the barrel itself.

First visit the wreckers/Auto shop and pick one up...dont forget the key...lol

Next Hammer a suitablly sized flat-blade screw driver into the keyslot of the bootlock, take care not to damage the car, but dont be afraid of making the lock itself look reaaal ugly, hammer, twist, wiggle untill its either open or out of the way .
once visible , turn the "square hole" to open your boot and attach the new lock.

After it has
