What is the valve lash adjustment to the rocker arm bolts on a 1985 Nissan 720 pick up, 2.4 liter Z24 engine, 2 wheel drive 5 speed manual?
Guys he has a Z24, Not KA24, Z24 for one, Is carbed and has older lifters and valves. They need to be tuned to spec within a certain specific limit and the cams must be rotated in certain positions when doing different valves, etc... Shouldnt take very long normally and its not a hard process but if you have a tick, you really should get it checked out. Btw, the Z24 engine's idle isnt controlled by ecu at all or else the carb wouldnt need an idle adjustment screw.

valve tick is completely normal on a KA24DE. if you dont, start running a full synthetic oil. KA's are bullet proof, the motor will last 300k with no real problems...valve tick is nothing. I own 2 nissan 240sx, they have the same motor as your truck. i have a good amount of experience with them. hope that helps

first of all you don't have to loosen the pulley, this will no solve the problem, well you already loosen the adjuster, good, bot thing you have not done i will tell you now,on the power steering pump where the belt pass there is also a bolt that hold it ,you must loosen that also, then after you will see the pump moving on the two position that means you will see the belt loosen on 1 position an d the position it will tight the belt, try that man.............
