How much is a wiring harness for my 2001 chevey impala stock stereo, and do i need the harness to install the stock stero again

pop out the center trim piece with a flat head screwdriver. Center dash piece may be brushed aluminum or wood grain depending on trim level. It should pop out easily working all the way around it. Then radio is held in with 7mm screws.

yes you have to get a GM pass lock harness the security, door chime, and a few other systems are run through the radio. the harness you need cost about $120 at your local car audio store.
