A faulty throttle position sensor can cause all kinds of drivability problems on all kinds of different vehicles. However, if I was driving a 1991 Honda Accord and the engine suddenly shut down like somebody turned the key off, the first thig I would do is check for spark at the spark plugs. If there was no spark, I would replace the distributor, since this is what causes this about 90% of the time on those vehicles.

SOURCE: trouble throttling positioning sensor

Use and OBD II scan device to read the value to the throttle position when the throttle is closed, engine off, key on. The value may be between zero and 10 percent, check a like vehicle with the scanner for the exact setting. A call to your Honda service department may give you a quick answer.

My 93 honda accord is idling up and down, up and down. what could this be?

This is caused by a number of things, but one is more common, that is a dirty automatic Idle speed control system. Clean it as outlined below.

To correct this problem get a can of throttle valve cleaner (it is made by CRC) from the local auto parts store, spray it into the air intake of the engine until you have used about half the can, you will need to hold the idle up while you do this, it will try to stall, after this shut the engine down and disconnect the Negative (-) battery cable for 5 minutes. The intake is now clean, if you continue to have the idle speeds problems you may need to seek the help of a professional.

yes or possibly more likely hose may be collapsing from the vaccum...inspect...also check throttle position sensor, idle control valve.mass air flow sensor, or possibly (map)sensor.any one of these could cause your problem.start with (map)sensor they are a comon trouble maker.

91 Honda will not go faster than 30 mph

Yes, that sensor could cause that symptom.
Cleaned everything first?
Part is around $50 I think, used obviously cheaper. Try removing the cable going to the sensor, this usually forces the computer to a default setting. If your performance improves you found your culprit. It also never hurts to clean the throttle body and air intake. Are there any codes getting set by the onboard computer? Part house can help you there.
