Car wont shift into any gears except 5th?? clutch cable replaced almost a year ago.
Does the clutch pedal engage? This sounds like a clutch problem to me.

Sounds like the clutch is going out. I would check the operation of the clutch slave cylinder. Also check the clutch master cylinder fluid level.

yes the clutch pedal enguages. 5th gear works and I am assumeing all gears work you just cant shift into them?? It seems to have been a ongoing problim as I have seen it on the internet in a few places but no solution was ever posted?? I bought the car from a friend who said he had the same problim and replaced the clutch cable a year ago which I guess fixed it .. my problim is the clutch cable shouldnt go bad within a years time so there must be something causing this??
