Anytime a starter clicks instead of turning over, you should suspect your battery is weak. Try to get a jump start and take the car to an auto parts store. Most of them will do bettery and alternator checks for no charge.

SOURCE: I have a 1995 lincoln continental and I had

I fought with the same issue on my 1997 Mark VIII a few years back, and it turned out that there was a clog in the air line (just a piece of dirt that looked like a tiny piece of the air line itself.

Could also be a loose or leaking air line, since the pump runs and stops at a fixed interval.Make sure that the system actually gains pressure. If not, start checking for an air leak!

Hope that's helpful!

1999 Lincoln Continental air bags won't inflate. What are next steps?

It is a known issue on these. Did you test the junkyard compressor with direct power? It may be defunct on the car that was scrapped!

Can not get the new air ride compressor to come on

Make sure the trunk switch is turned on. Your doorjam and trunk switches are wired into the Air-ride. They must sense the openings are closed before the lift compressor will work.

There are level controls for height. If the car was put on a lift without the switch being turned off, the positioner may be stretched beyond working.

Hi. I have seen lincolns with 200,000 miles on em.. That said, I am a wee bit suspicious that your had exactly 100,000 miles on it when you bought it. Possible but not likely. Go to a reputable mechanic and see what he says. Shop around. Keep notes so you remember the details. Joe

I have a check engine light and the code is p1451. I have a Lincoln Continental 2001

P1451---Evap Control System Canister Vent
Solenoid Circuit Malfunction

You can change it yourself & hope you didn't
waste your money

You can have it properly checked out with the
use of a scan tool & an EVAP Smoke Machine,
to see if the solenoid is really bad
