Blue Smoke .... Faulty PCV ???

Night before last I was going up a hill, then down the other side. At the bottom I gave gas and the blue smoke rolled... Yesterday, I parked the car, left for 20 minutes, came back, started up and when I pulled out on the highway (up hill) the smoke rolled. This morning I sat in line at a drive thru. Upon leaving and giving gas to go back on the highway, the blue smoke rolled. It does this for a block or two, then stops and is fine again.

SOURCE: 1990 ford diesel non turbo

it sounds like your fuel lines aren't maintaining pressure and the angle is allowing too much fuel to drain out of the lines. i have the same issue with and older f350 diesel if i let it sit a while and it doesn't get started.

First try changing the fuel filter. It is extremely easy and costs about 12 dollars at Wal-mart. If that doesn't work than try changing the fuel pump itself. Little more costly but still pretty simple to do.

SOURCE: 98 f150 4.2 110.000 miles went to start up engine started clacking and smoking out exhaust

the intakes go bad on these engines....... they leak coolant in the cylinders and cause a hydro lock that causes the rods to bend making the piston skirt hit the crank......" clicking noise" theres a law suit in progress for this issue......... you can find info on the internet

SOURCE: white and blue smoke ford fiesta

Your car is burning oil. This is most likely due to leaking valve seals. That would explain why the car is losing oil but not coolant.

My BMW 525i pcv tubes was broken replaced all cleaned the icv had a lot of smoke cleared up within a week .seemed to have fixed but now I have small trail of sooty smoke

As a general rule black smoke is soot from excess fuel, white smoke is either steam or a great deal of unburned fuel (mainly diesels) and blue or blue/grey smoke is burning oil.

A trail of sooty smoke would indicate too much fuel is entering the cylinders. Perhaps you have a dribbling injector or a faulty sensor or perhaps your injectors are old and worn with bad spray patterns.

Why is my car losing oil?

Hi..That is a lot of oil you are losing, The engine is definitely toast.
Blue/Gray Smoke: Blue/gray exhaust smoke is an indication of oil burning in the combustion chamber.

Valve Guides: Excessive clearance between the valve stem and the valve guide allows oil to leak past the gap into the cylinder.
Piston Rings: Worn or damaged piston rings will cause blow-by resulting in blue/gray smoke.
Worn Cylinder Walls: Worn cylinder walls cause blow-by resulting in blue/gray smoke.
PCV System: A stuck closed PCV valve will cause excessive crankcase pressure resulting in blue/gray smoke.
Is it worth fixing? Depends on how much this car means to you, Mileage of vehicle, and just how much money you want to throw into a 20 year old car..The engine will need to be completely overhauled or change out with a used engine probably close to 800- $1000 either way..Probably have a lot more into this than you can live with I'm guessing

I have not changed my oil 4 months after it was due to be changed due to $ problems.. but was still driving on it to get back and forth to work.. the engine light was on and it started smoking and the car...

Take it back to the shop and tell them it didn't get fixed. Can't help if you don't explain what was done.
What color smoke? Blue smoke is oil burning, black smoke is unburned gas out the exhaust, white smoke indicates coolant burning from a bad head gasket.
If the engine light was on, they must have scanned for trouble codes. Is the light on again? Did they give you a description of the codes?

94z71 smokes when first crank or idolin

Sounds like valve stem seals or valve guides. The smoke would be blue, also going down hill against compression... Upon acceleration, you would see a puff of blue smoke.

Driving down the road at 55 and the car lets out a bunch of white smoke for about 5 seconds then goes away the when i stoped and looking in the air filter base it is full of oil. How can i fix it

you might get lucky with a new PCV valve. But it sounds like you have a small leak in either the intake manifold or a head gasket. if so it will get worse soon. white smoke is water. blue is oil. black is gas. place a white rag or paper towel at the tailpipe to get the true color of the smoke

Blue or white smoke comes out when i push the gas

It appears that the oil is being burned by the engine. You may or may not notice the engine doesn't have the same power as it used to
Possible causes are piston rings, valve seals may be worn, damaged or worn valve guides, PCV valve is faulty. The only one that would be a DIY would be the PCV Valve, all the others should be left to qualified people

Smoke from engine

Is the smoke white or blue? If white means that you have a leak of water or antifrezze into the combustion chamber. If blue, replace PCV valve, and air filter.
