2002 chevy impala radio completely dead and high beam lights wont switch on, all the message centre lights flash on constantly, it also says my car is locked, before it would lock everytime i turned my car on then about 5-10 minutes later the radio would come on, now nothing happens

If the battery has gone dead, it could cause the security system to go into full lock-up mode. If it has locked up the accessories will work after the battery is charged back up , but the power to the starter will be cut off and it wont turn over. You need to do the 30 minute learn procedure. A GM dealer will print it out for you and you can do it yourself. It's very simple if you follow the procedure exact. hope this helps and good luck.

Check the radio fuse? Box is drivers side end of dash(drivers door open)or pass side end of dash(passenger door open)
police models have a connection for the speakers (passenger floorboard under floor mat) to connect the speakers to the police radios.
If they had the speakers connected to their radios,they may have unhooked them and not connected them back to the radio.
The wires are brown,grey,blue and light blue.All into a blue connector.
