Cadillac 2004 cts, wont start

Everything came on fine except it wouldn't start, battery light didn't even come on only engine light did. It clicked couple of times when I turned key. Then I tried to jump start it and it went totally dead, no clicking no nothing, couldn't even lock the car with the remote. Battery is almost 5 years old?

I had a similar problem. 2004 CTS would not start...not even click. I took it to the dealership and they replaced the original battery. No problems for 10 days, go to garage one morning and it would not start, not even turn over or click. Then of course it locks your key in the iginition. Do I have a computer problem or do I need to reset my theft deterrent system?

I had a 2003 ctc that did the same thing, it wouldn't start or would make a clicking sound and about 1 mth after the problem started aND mechanics could not find a problem my car caught on fire and burned completely from something under the right side of the hood. i had just parked the car and got out, it happened really fast. the fire chief said the cause was unknown????

now i have a 2004 cts and i'm having the same problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! has anyone else had this happen???? please be cautious if your cts is doing this, during the fire my doors locked and had to be pried into by fire chief.

My car just started to have this same exact problem. Worked fine, came back home from a trip and it won't start. Everything comes on but no fuel guage movement or click when try to start. I have 85,000 miles on the car. Seems to be a common trend. Anyone find or receive a fix from a dealership?

The battery needs replacement. Also , the starter could have frozen up on your car. take off the starter, then remove from the car. get some jumper cables and connect from a good battery. Connect the negative cable to the housing as ground. then carefully hit the hot wire bolt of the starter with the positive cable. If the starter is OK, the starter should spin freely and kick up. Be careful when doing this. Also , be sure you mark the wiring so the starter can be replaced exactly as it came off. if it does not turn or turns slow and sluggish, the starter is your problem. replace with a good starter.

SOURCE: i need to remove the rear door interior panel on

on the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge.pull back the weather seal and you'll be able to get to the track

SOURCE: no sound from radio / now car totally dead

Its you antenna module above your headliner. It controlls your remote for keyless entry as well as your am/fm reception via an amplifier. GM part number is 12233252 for updated and revised version around $100 bucks online.

2004 cadillac cts wont crank at all, i turn the key and try to start it but it doesn't crank or do anything just the dashboard light come on and the engine light flickers then it wont release the key

I had something similar happen on my 2004 CTS. The car would not crank, and I recall the security light was on the dash. The key could be turned off, but not quite far enough to be removed.
The key can be removed by sticking a small pin or screw driver in a hole under the steering column... maybe 2 inches from the actual steering wheel. I recall there is a small cover or plug in the hole that needs to be removed.
You can let it sit and occasionally try to start it. My did start once more.
I ended up having it towed to the GM dealer and they replaced the ECM for about $500? That took care of it for a couple years, until I recently sold it.

How to reset baterry saver on 2006 cadillac cts?

Disconnect the battery and clean both terminals. Wait about 10 minutes before re-connecting battery terminals. That will reset your car's computer. Should start if there is enough juice in the battery. If you hear a clicking sound when you turn on the engine it means your battery is too low to turn the engine and probably means it's time for a new battery. Get someone to give you a boost and it should start fine. Your battery is probably original equipment and more than 8 years old. Thats about maximum life expectancy for a battery.

2003 Cadillac CTS won't start after disconnecting battery

Don't do that again! You will need to re-boot the on board computer system by entering a code. Call your nearest Cadillac dealer.
