1993 940 turbo, sedan, everthing working good, then blower just stopped , wife hit bump in road blower worked for 3 days then quit, checked fuses (ok). checked blower with direct power(ok). replaced resistor in plenum per dealer rrecommendation $50 still not working. replaced temp controller unit in dash with another used unit no change. wiggled keys in ignition no change sometimes i get 12+ volts thru system at blower wire and other times get 1.76 volts at blower motor ? checked all grounds that could find seem good.
Suggestions anyone!!

Most likely just replace it. You could pull the fuse and then use a small screwdriver to try and pull the tabs inside the receiver in toward the center a little. It could be that repeated insertion and extraction of the lighter or accessory plug has bent them outward enough that they're not making sufficient contact to power what you plug in. If that doesn't work, replace it and then put the fuse back in.

14.6 means your voltage regulator or diode is suspect Despite having new alternator .Ive cross refrenced your smptoms in the haynes workshop manual and alternator is your only end answer. The haynes test is to start vehicle with multi meter connected across the battery terminals, increase the engine speed until the reading remains steady should be approximately 12 to 13v and no more than 14v.switch on as many accessories as possible(headlights heater blower radio etc)check that the alternator maintains the regulated voltage at around 13 to 14v.If the regulated voltage is not as stated then alternator is to be repaired/replaced.Good luck with it and a happy new year.

As you can read in the first response that is most likely the problem..as long as you're gonna be doing all the labor, if you can afford it replace both the resistor and motor at he same time if you plan on keeping the car.

Most likely it will be the blower. Check to see if there is power to it, and then ground it. If it runs, the blower speed control is likely bad. If not it will be the blower motor.

sounds like blower motor is junk what hapens is people take the cabin filther out and all kinds of junk falls into heater motor and eventually it gets stuck and motor will not work right
