As of today I just replaced the water pump myself. The noise is about the same if not louder now. Could it be the ac compressor? It's only making the noise when I start the air conditioner in the vehicle. When I am in park the noise comes and goes. In idle, the noise is really loud and while driving it's not as loud as in idle but still pretty noisy.

One of the belt pulleys likely has a bad bearing. watch the pulleys for binding while it's running or remove the belt and check each pulley by hand. AC puts more strain on the belt...if the belt is not new and pulleys check out, (and tensioner is working properly) change the belt.

That clutch and coil are serviceable without replacing the compressor but I have had little success with this as usually the clutch gets in that shape subsequently from activity going on inside the compressor which means that clutch is failed generally for a reason.replace the compressor -orfice tube-reciever drier and happy motoring......

One of three things. I would start with removing the belt and checking the idler and tensioner pulleys to see if they are running smoth. The third item would be the ac compresor brg.

I have a very loud squealing noise in my 2003 mazda mvp engine when i accelerate. We removed the belts which would eliminate belts as the problem. And that's that it. If anyone has any info please let me know.
Thank you

I forgot to mention that approximately one month ago I replaced the serpentine belt and the noise went away for about 24 hours and then it came back in full force. I talked to my friend today and had him look at it and he said that the belt may be a little too tight. He said that should be just a little bit of play in the belt whereas mine has no play at all. I may look at trying to loosen it just a bit...I will let you know what happens...thanks so much for the speedy reply.
Side note: The old belt that I pulled off may have been too loose, so I guess I need to figure out where the happy medium is...hmmmm!
