THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAPPENED AND I THINK IS ELECTRICAL ISSUE AND NOT STARTER PROBLEM AS BEEN TOLD
It is normal for the cluster to do that, it is doing its doing a self check on the cluster. What else happens when you turn the key, dose it make a clicking noise or does all the light go dim? Need more info?
If you need further help, I’m available over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/edward_020b3320326d263d
NO CLICK NOISE, LIGHTS STAY ON WHILE DE NEEDLES MOVES UP AND DOWN ALL THE TIME UNTIL I TAKE THE KEY OUT
it could be a bad ground, take the battery cables off the battery and check and see it they are dirty and clean both the cables and battery connection side so they have good contact. do you have a 12 volt test light if not you can get one pretty cheap at the auto part store. you want to get to the starter there will be two wires one big one that comes the battery and a small one that gos to the starter solenoid you want to connect the test light to a good ground (frame bolt. transmission case, even the starter) you check your ground by touching the big cable to the starter from the battery, if it lights up you have a good ground. now you want someone to turn the key to the start position and hold it the test light to the small wire if it lights up then you know is getting the signal to start, that tells you that the starter is bad, if that is the case hit it with a hammer at the same time someone try to start it . it may turn over. if it does not light up. it could be a problem with the switch do this first and let ne know what happens

You can buy a new one for around 75$ on ebay. Dealer was 300$ + 300$ to install it... Took me an hour !

This is actually an easy swap out. Remove the electrical connection, remove the retaining bolt and pull out old one. I believe the sensor is located in the front passenger side of the engine on this particular model.

Get yourself to a junkyard and pack yourself a light lunch while you're at it. Take a leisurely stroll through the junk that closely resembles the one you need parts for. Go to the closest wiring harness to the headlight assembly, take your time and don't go trying to **** it, and unplug it from the bulbs up front. Make a simple and straight forward swap and do take the time to stop and smell the junkers, it's quite relaxing! Then, you should seriously make sure your new wiring harness is properly grounded (!), which I suspect to have been a contribing factor to your problem of overheating the bulb socket. Do take the time to go over the stuff that should be grounded and make it so. Th e job is quite simple and well worth you taking the time to do it yourself.

Unfortunately, this problem could be caused by a number of things. A fuel pressure regulator is not usually one of them. The fuel pressure regulator will help to, essentially, regulate and change the pressure of the fuel in the fuel rail as the engine RPMs change. This change is usually minor, however, and will not interfere with the initial startup of the vehicle. I can give you a few basic ideas of where to look, I have seen this same problem on other 5.3L motors, but I have also seen it on many other cars as well, and the problems never seem to be consistent. If the truck has had a fresh tune up, and the filters have all been changed (most notably, the fuel filter) then the first thing to look at is going to be the throttle body. On the intake, there is a butterfly valve- if this is all gummed up with carbon or other deposits, clean it! (Note, it is best to wipe down well with a clean cloth, be as gentle as possible. Hold the butterfly valve open by hand or have a friend hold the gas pedal down (with the truck off, of course), and wipe this down thoroughly. You will have to take off the air cleaner and tubing first, in order to reach this. If this doesn't help, you could have a vacuum leak. You could have a bad Throttle Position Sensor, or a bad Mass Air Flow sensor. If your fuel return line is clogged or vapor locked, it will make it harder to start the vehicle. If the fuel pump is putting out sufficient pressure, but not the intial sufficient volume you need, that could also be a problem. There are a LOT of things that could cause this realistically, but the best thing to do is to eliminate the easiest problems one by one. Keep up on the maintenance, routinely check your filters and spark plugs, and DO NOT use cheapo parts. If you determine that it is not a simple failure, or are not comfortable with testing fuel pressure or volume output, checking the intake manifolds for minor vacuum leaks, etc. it may be best to take it to a professional who is trained to do that. Look for a shop in your area with a good reputation, as this isn't just a routine problem, and will take good diagnostic abilities and a skilled technician to fix it.
Thanks for asking!
