Removing 2006 kia sedona captain seats

SOURCE: I was removing the rear seat in a Kia Sedona.

hi squeeze the bars together and it will release the clips for you. if you need more information someone on this kia forum had the same problem and was given the steps to-do it.

Got it, with the help and eyes of my wife. The rear latch releases as the seat back is lowered. This release is ALMOST seat back down (about 3 inches above the seat bottom). As the seat back lowers, apply constant lift on the rear latch, and it will release as the seat back lowers. Hard-won knowledge - I think I invented some bad words in the process.

This happened to me the other day! My husband took into Kia dealership only to be told they'd need it for a few hours, might have to take the whole seat apart, then resulting in labor charges!
This morning my dad came over with solutions he'd found online involving the use of a broomstick or rake. That didn't work. You first have to slide the whole seat in the forward position, so the metal tracking behind the seat is exposed. Next locate the cable cord on the inside of this track. My dad then took a long, flat head screwdriver, placed it under then cable and pushed it upwards/forwards-which released the rear latches and then I pulled the lever and we pushed the seat out!!
