Sprinter won't start

Van won't start and the glow plug light stays on and the radiator fan screams. Checked all fuses, replaced them and it started. Drove for 10-15 minutes came home left van for several minutes came back and it wouldn't start. Today, I started it twice, on the third try it went back to the above problem. Any ideas? Thanks. Larry

The van was towed to a Freightliner Sprinter dealer in Inver Grove Heights, MN. So far it seems it is the ECM (Electronic Control Module). With parts and labor the bill is $2,800.00. Dang, Mercedes is expensive to fix. Think about that before you buy one. Thank you guys for checking out my question.I will post more after I pick the van up and have the bill in my hand. Take care.

I had similar problem with Durango and replaced the "brain" with a refurbished PCM -- google for reburbished PCMs and call the Florida Company and ask they guys there what they think. My fix was < $300.00 by replacing the brain.

2002 mercedez-benz sprinter van schematics glo plugs

Hello try to measure the voltage at the glowplug wire with ignition on.

It must be at between 5 and 12 volts.
They need to be changed at 60000 to 80000 km.
Because at this mileage they are normaly burned out.
Each plug can drag 8 to 10 amps, when on.

If no reading volts, the glow plug relay, and maybe the plugs must be renewed.
There should also be a big fuse at the firewall, check that also.
Follow the glow plug wire, where it goes to.
Does the glow plug lamp light up in the dashboard ??
Are the relay clicking ???

Check also for blown fuses, resistors, or broken wires.

If you change the glowplugs, DO NOT overtighten them, not more than 15 NM !!!

Good luck

1986 ford f350 won't start

The solenoid click sounds very strong, implying that you have a charged battery and the ignition circuit is functioning out to the solenoid. Suspect an issue with the starter motor. Is the starter motor installed and connected properly?

Vito 2006 109cdi. fuse number 41 is blowing (engine fuse)

engine light stays on
the ecu will have fault codes stored to be read
that will point to the cause and a fix of the over load

my best information on a vito if diesel..says
10 amp fuse 41 . glow plugs

you must need the van on the road very badly
30 amp in a 10 amp fuse position can
melt the wiring even a fire

Have you checked the electric fan/fans on the radiator? It may also pay to check the sender sensor which starts and stops the fan/fans.This may sound a bit silly but is the rad.cap correct pressure setting and is the pipe to the expansion tank clear?...Maybe of some help.

I have a 2001grand cherekee listed that won't stay

there can be a nuber of things. you could be losing spark. that would be ignition coil pack or spark plugs. you could be losing fuel pressure . the jeeps are known for bad fuel pumps. and the crank position sensor . this is my link to my garagehttps://www.facebook.com/TedsRepairs

Working on 2006 dodge sprinter 3500 trubo diesel with engine light on put scanner on and got 2 codes, P0671 cylinder N.1 glow plug circuit and P0380 glow plug circ perf also intake air heater relay N.1...

I did this exact thing.. I see your date of posting is a while ago, however let me know how you ended up.. If you leave the battery connected while installing the relay you can short it out causing the problem all over again.. also there is a couple points that run along that wiring harness that are known to rub through.. let me know how you did!
