The battery is mounted in the trunk, on the driver's side, beside the spare tire.

Do you have to get the bcm flashed or reprogrmed every time the battery goes dad on a 2006 buck lucern

All systems should reset after disconnecting and reconnecting a good charged battery. However, before going any further you should remove the dead battery, have it checked and either replace it or charge it out of the vehicle. Then, install it and see if that works. If not, you probably will have to replace the BCM. Jump starting a dead battery is a very bad idea unless it is done very carefully, and even then, it can cause damage to modules.

My 2006 chevy colorado is making a clicking sound and won't turn over

Your Main Battery is Flat, get a jump start if its safe or remove the battery and hook it up to a charger. Maybe you left your lights on, or your alternator isnt charging the battery properly when your driving around. Sometimes this can be the bushes located in the alternator.

Battery seems to be charged, it will crank 90% of the time but once in a while i have to jump it off. this started when i left the dome light and rear inside light on all night and the battery lost charge.

Maintenance-free batteries really don't tolerate complete discharge very well. If the battery was already several years old, letting it go dead probably was the last straw, so now it may not hold a charge more than a day or two, or it may have so little capacity that if you start the car a couple of times without a long (20 min+) drive between starts to recharge the battery, it won't be able to start the car the next time without a jump. Probably time to go battery shopping.
You didn't mention your model, but many BMWs use unusual battery sizes (group #s). Most of us use a smaller, common size battery, or a larger (longer) battery because original sized batteries are hard to find at the retailers, and when you find one, it may not be very fresh. If your battery will only last six or seven years at best, you don't want to buy one that is already a year old, and has been sitting on the shelf partially charged for that year.

Last night car would not start was making

you may need some power steering fluid or it could be a computer fault. the clicking was a low battery not being able to turn the starter motor but it should not effect your steerin. try some fluid first if that doesn't work take it to a garage. it could be something simple like a loose wire.
