2002 H1 HUMMER We just purchased this a month ago. It was running fine then we pulled it over to the garage and My husband put on a set of piaa driving lights. the only thing he really removed was the negative battery cable. Once he was done he went to start it and it wouldn't crank. The battery has 12 vts from each on load is 10.9 each the dome light fuse was bloswn and we replace that all the others are fine. There is aviper aftermarket system I wasn't sure that worked if it could disable the ignition. The dash lights all come on and dome lights but you turn the ket and nothing like the starter is bad but it's not we checked we you turn the key there's power to the green solenoid wire and the main power feeds have power to the starter. Any ideas? Thanks so much. is it just a coincidense this happened when installing the lights or does it have something to do with it??? Frustrated cleaned battery terminals checked all the stupid stuff.

Today 11-12-08 my 2003 H2 Hummer would not start. Checked battery it ischarged. Cables tight. Tried to start with portable booster pak. No go. Tridto jump start with my wife's Suburban. Still no go.
When I turn the switch I hear a single click and that is it. No engine turning over. While trying to start with key the headlights go out. Out of ideas, Will take to Chevy garage in am. Will post solution.
SOURCE: BRAKE SYSTEM FAILURE
well what could of happend they probably put the battery on backwards and blew out a fusible link. The links run thru the wires by the battery and behind the alternator check it out Good Luck keep me posted
SOURCE: Will not start or turn
Steve, take the starter off and have it checked at a local parts store ie:Auto zone, O'reiley's ect. I would be willing to bet that the starter is out. the reason i think this is because of that fact that you said that the lights go out when you turn the ignition to the "start" position, this usually means there is a short in the starter. For a quick fix, you could have someone hold the key in the on position and lightly tap on the starter with a hammer to see if it is just bound up.
SOURCE: 2006 Hummer H3 intermittenly wont start. Have to
Hi, my research on this issue has turned up phantom causes as sticking valves, ignition switch and seat movement.
On some Hummer, it turns out to be sticky valves in the head. GM replaced the head under warranty and the hummer haven't had any more trouble out of it. There is a recall for the 2006/2007 5 cylinder models and you should be able to have this taken care of at no cost.
Do you have a remote start?
The H3 Bypass module has an issue with Remote Start. When this happens to you must wait 10 full minutes before trying to start it again (DONT USE REMOTE, USE THE KEY) the bypass module takes 10 minutes to get out of "theft mode" this is in your manual as well, I forgot what page. The only way to get this to full proof work is to get a shop to "OLD SCHOOL" wire around the bypass module.
