There are real garage shop manuels for virtually every vehicle made for sale and fair prices. Search- "Shop Manuels", Professional Mechanics Guides". If you just want a very basic book they have paperback Chilton's, Hayes and others. Personally I'd get a Pro book.

they say you need to take the water pump off.... but thats not true... but you do need to take the harmonic balancer off... be careful not to move the timing.

The Ford motors are pretty good. I had 280K on a 2.9 V-8 that only needed the oil changed every 3K. Unless you have fluctuatuation in the timing then you should be ok.
These engines use a chain rather than a belt and have excellent life.
