Twice now, my Yukon has sputtered and hesitated when I pushed on the accelerator. Both times, we got to a red light and it was almost light the distributor cap had water in it (had this happen to a mustang, that's how I recognized it), but it wasn't that. Husband changed fuel pump a month ago and cleaned filter. Yesterday, same exact thing happened. They had to push it off the side of the road and it wouldn't start back. Got a ride home, ran our errands, went back by to work on Yukon. Husband jumped it off and he followed me home. We were on our cell phones and I would tell him when it sputtered or felt fluttery - he said light smoke would come out each time I told him it was fluttery. Can someone help me with this? Thanks. fuel pump sock or try the egr valve to see if it is stuck open all the time. can't remember if that one has the digital one and a vachumm type as well, next would be the evaperative canister purge valve.

if your engine starts up and dies right away the you probably have a fuel pump problem and the service ride control mean that your air ride compressor has gone bad just turn your key to the on position and wait about 30 seconds you will here buzzing from the left rear wheel area if the compressor is working

yea you have no fuel and sound like a bad harness and the gm's are know for there fuel pump harness's! did you change it when you changed the pump? there is a lose connection somewhere in the fuel delivery system and it's pretty simply! i would check the fuel pump relay on the left hand side of the engine compartment and maybe even put power to the pump at the relay position "b" on the fuel pump relay harness and there should be a one pin connector to put power to also connected to the same position on the relay "b" the wire should be tan and white! good luck

Hello. The GMC Sierra has an electric fuel pump so you should ensure that its fuses and relays are working before checking it. You may need to clean your fuel pump or replace it if your gas tank is not empty, but your vehicle has difficulty getting fuel. The GMC Sierra comes in a variety of styles and trim levels that can affect the replacement fuel pump you choose.
