Rear defroster doesnt work also locks/key fob doesnt work.

I have a 98 concord lxi and the rear defroster doesnt work. Also, I assume, the doors should lock and unlock with the ignition but do not. The key fob also doesnt work so i'm thinking that it may have had an aftermarket alarm installed befor. I bought the vehicle only a bit ago so dont know much about the car.

SOURCE: key fob will not undo

If you don't have one that works for the vehicle now, you'll have to take it to your local dealer to have it programmed to the vehicle. Some will charge for this, some will do it at no charge.

If you do have a remote that is programmed and working for the vehicle, then the following steps will allow you to program another remote:

1. Enter vehicle and close all doors.

2. Put seatbelt on (or clip it into the buckle) to shut the warning buzzer off.

3. Put key in ignition, turn to run position but don't start it.

4. Press and hold the unlock button on the working key fob and hold for 4 seconds, then also press the panic button.

5. Release both buttons and you should hear a single chime to indicate it is in program mode. You have 30 seconds after the chime to program any additional remotes you want to program.

6. Press and release both the unlock and lock buttons simultaneously on the remote you are programming. You should hear another single chime.

7. Within 4 seconds after hearing the chime, press either lock or unlock button on remote that you are programming.

How can I figure out why my hatch, power lock buttons, and power mirrors on my 03 Chevy Blazer aren't working? And how can I repair them?

bought it like this.
so fob buttons work, but not hatch.
but lock inside locks fail (elect. buttons)
driver and shotguns side both fail, lock sw?
ext, mirrors dead.
door looks in the service manual has 5 pages of schematics, is well advised to read that first
not scanning the PCM/BCM first is never good.
oK if the speed sensor on the car fails, doors will act up. (for sure if it see car moving and is not)
the radio receiver (fob) works mostly
Fuse MIR /LKS must not be blown door buttons fail
why not check all fuses, save work and not need books to fix it if a fuse blew.?(underhood box)
IP fuse PWR/LKS not blown
the BCM runs the 3 Door lock relays
possibles
Fuse MIR /LKS blown 3amps
this kill local door power to LF and RF door swithes dead. and Rear glass to. the relay board does not fail with fobs. is the key fact.
your post is not clear on all for doors.
or LF an RF door switches. but assumed both are dead, me.
so it is just blown fuse.
we always check fuse first. a 20 cent part.

Alarm wont stop sounding!

although you can open the door with a key ,unless the alarm system senses a fob key signal it will assume that the door is being opened illegally and will set of the alarm
keys can be cut for all cars requiring a key fob unit but the alarm is not cancelled and the engine will not start
you may have to get another key fob and have it programmed to the ECM system

Get Door To Open With Dead Battery So I can pop the Hood Switch

I imagine the obvious answer is to use a key in the door lock cylinder. The reason you have done this is because there is no door lock cylinder! You only have a fob is my guess, that electronically opens the doors. Dead battery..and the fob no longer works. Don't worry, examine your fob and there should be a way to open it. Carefully open the fob and surprise! There is a key inside of it! Now take that key and there ahould be a key lock cylinder above your rear license plate. You should be able to open your rear hatch. Now somewhere to the drivers side in the rear compartment there should be some sort of pull you can use which will open the drivers door. Hope that helps you out!

How to program keyless entry remote 1998 chrysler concorde lxi

When you replace the batteries in a key fob (or if the car randomly "un-syncs" with fob) you usually have to reprogram (kind of a sync) the fob to the car. Each manufacturer is different and usually involves turning the key over a certain number of times ( like 8) then operating the fob in a certain way like holding the lock button down for three or so seconds. I found out how to do mine on YouTube. You can search there for your specific re-syncing format or call a local Chrysler dealer

Car turns over doesnt start then nothing at all

Happened to me several times in Florida, once in Canada. 1999 Chrysler Seabring Convertible Lxi 2.7. Computer locks out ignition for random periods. Took it to a Huge dealership in Florida, paid $350.00 for transmission shaft speed sensor stuff. Fixed it. Fine since. 1 yr. later body control module went (computer). Expensive to fix.$(800.00 just for dealer only part) Air door control, tachometer, and a rear window affected. I'll live with it as the 'failsafe' for loss of AC control is AC is 'Defrost/Floor'. Fan works fine.
