Jag-mondeo 2.0 diesel with diesel knock changing from first to second and some times drops power when changing down into second near a roundabout i have put some injector cleaner in with fuel and it does seem slighty quieter but its still there and obviously there is an underlying issue..allso i went through dash test and couldnt find any fault codes as there was no po,s showing but im unsure wheather theyve changed it on the jags as i had mondeo before and it seemed easyer to read i did have to flashing ones though dtc 6000 and another dtc one any one had same issues im sure there is as webs full of these issues

it sounds like the duel mass flywheel has gone bad unless there is something fouling ie .exhaust so get the exhaust etc first cos a new flywheel/clutch is a EXPENSIVE JOB! GOOD LUCK
first check the cooling system ie coolant level. the ecm is shutting down the engine because it thinks its overheating may be just the engine thermostat try that and also check the radiator for blockage airflow ect
The only time a vehicle goes into limp mode is when there is ****** problems, so I would take it to the ****** shop for code retrivel and if I am not wrong there might be problem with the Input/Output speed sensors BUT do have it checked first.
jaguar x-type 2ltr diesel 2004 the glow plug warning light flashing, was told dirty fuel on fault code all fuel changed and filters. No problems for 20 miles untill engine was put under power on high revs went into limp mode, warning light glow plug falshing again? any ideas thanks.
oh yes,,,its the engine management light telling you its time for a service,,,,dont over look this, or the next thing to go wrong will be the engine fuel pump and if that packs up you will need to sell your sole to pay for the fix,,, this car needs to be serviced on time every time or it just wont last very long
so in short have a full service done on it fast
