A heating problem on a 2000 nissan altima

I have a 2000 nissan altima and the services engiene soon light has recently stayed on. I got it checked and they said that the heater thermostat may be broke because my heat doesn't blow out like it should. Is this a matter that needs to be taken care of ASAP or can I wait a month or so to do it without causing more damage to the vehicle? And is it that expensive to do.

You can take a little time but you should definitely replace it soon if you have cold weather where you live.

Engines need to be warmed up by the coolant in the winter time.

I have a 2005 Nissan Altima 2.5 S 4 cylinder - went to get gas (just a bit, did not fill up) on Christmas and soon afterward the 'service engine soon' light came on. Called the Nissan dealer

When last did you service the vehicle ?
did they use the proper fuel ?

Chances are the service time is near where you will need to do a basic service, Plug , plug wires, filters etc. And reset the counter.
the fuel ting is just a coincidence.

I have a 1999 Nissan Altima and my Brake light just came on recently, my question is where do I check for brake fluid? Where is it located at?

the brake fluid reservoir is on the drivers side of the engine back by the firewall. I believe the cap is yellow and should say brake fluid or DOT3 or something simular. Use only DOT3 or DOT4 brake fluid from a sealed container.

You can also consult your owners manual to find it.

Ac does not come on cold when first started when i drive it a mile or so it come on ice cold and stays working till I shut it off 2000 nissan altima

This is normal conditions anything that uses forced air heat or cold there is ambient air in the duct work that must be purged out before the heated or cooled air flows.

1998 nissan altima dashboard display engine service soon

Hello and thank you for using FixYa!

The service engine soon light comes on when a fault is detected in the emission system. The service engine soon light is the same thing as a check engine light. A scan tool will be needed to get the code for the failure, so the proper repairs can be made.

Thanks Jay!
