Someone told me that I can replace 2.9L V6 in my 1993 Volvo 960 with a 2.9L V6 out of a 1995 Volvo 960. I have also been told that it isn't a straight swap and that there are a few things that need to be done to ensure the success of the transplate. One item mentioned was the flex plate; the flex plate from the 1993 needs to be used with the 1995 engine to ensure the ECU doesn't crater.
What are all of the secret handshakes, if any, that one needs to know to replace 1993 2.9L V6 in a Volvo 960 with a 1995 2.9L V6.?

It's an inline-6, not V-6.
I'd think you could just drop in a 95' i-6 and use the 95' ecu.
Though, I was unaware that there are any changes.. it should have 60-2 on both, as well as camsynch.
