You need to do a parasitic load test.(this will require a DC ammeter).I prefer to test with a clamp-on type meter for a faster draining condition like this. Most people don't have this kind of test equipment,so the only other way is to just look for things staying on.A battery draining in 24 hrs is probably a 1-2 amp load.Try looking at the trunk light(gotta start somewhere).I have found glove box lights, vanity mirror lights, and underhood light staying on before.(I even remember a Chevy Blazer that had a 16 amp drain because the rear wiper motor wasn't parking correctly!)If there isn't anything obvious, then pull one fuse at a time until the battery drain stops(start with things you can drive the car without).

A lot of suggestions which are probably above your capacity - however It could be numerous problems - consult a reputable auto electrical shop - you need someone that knows what they are talking about to physically look at the car to solve the problem - this will save you a lot of time, expense and heartache. ?

SOURCE: new battery drains to dead in 24 hours

Assuming that the trunk light is not staying on, I would think that the alternator would be the cause of the drain. When the internal electrical parts in the alternator fail, it can drain the battery.

Hi Mike
Try lightly tapping the starter with a spanner and at the same time turning the key to start, if it starts you need the starter overhauled.

if you left your key on, and not in the "accessory" position you may have ruined your coil! if your key is turned on, it is charged with alot of electricity.

The total amount of refrigerant in this system is 1.76 ounces.
It's hard to dispense an exact amount without a digital scale invloved. Good Luck.

Why wont battery charge with new alternator 1993 camry toyota

Make sure battery cables are clean and tight. If it is not maintenance free, check the water level of the battery. Try to charge the battery with an external charger. If it still won't charge, replace the battery.

2005 Toyota Camry. Stopped the car; few hours

Have the battery and alternator checked by a mechanic or auto parts store. As it is, it would seem your battery needs to be replaced, but if your alternator is bad then your battery may be good and you would just need to replace the alternator and charge the battery.
