If it was running fine before you changed the cap and rotor just make sure you put the spark plug wires back in the same spot you might have got them mixed up

SOURCE: distributor cap and rotor location on chevy silverado

Most chevy 5.3 do not use a cap and rotor. Most have single coil per spark plug and wire. Trace spark plug wires to coil usually above the valve cover.

Check your fuel filter and air filter. That is usually where your hesitation starts.

SOURCE: 1988 caprice classic turns over but wont start.

there are many things that could be wrong... evn though this caprice does not have points it does have a cap mounted coil that could be bad, also under neath the dist. is wuts called a pickup coil this coul also be bad. try a simple tune up first..plugs wires cap and rotor, new cap doesnt come with coil so you have to swap your old one into the new cap. getting a new coil wouldnt be to bad of an idea

There is an electronic module that amplify signal from knock sensor. Commonly is flat and located in motor compartement left side (seein from the front of the car) or in the same side back at the corner near gas and A/C reles. Unplug and try. If it sollve the problem, replace knoc sensor

When replacing the distributor on my 1994 chevrolet caprice classic 5.7 liter 350 iwas removing the harmonic balancer the engine turned does this mess up the timing and if so how do i set it there is

you did not hurt any thing, just reset the timming mark and install the distributer, to make sure you have the engine on top dead center remove the #1 spark plug and make sure the piston is at the top of the stroke then make sure the rotor is pointing at the #1 leg in the cap.

Have 95 chev caprice classic, engine running rough, replaced spark plugs and wires, it is getting good fire but the problem with rough running is worse. does this car have a distributor cap and rotor...

Not sure what engine you have in your car? If you have the V8 then I think you should have a cap and rotor. If so change them. The V6 may just have a coil pack. Just follow your wire from the plug and the other end either goes to a cap or a coil pack. Did you replace your fuel filer? If not then do so and if that doesn't help I would perform a fuel pressure test to make sure the fuel pump is working at the proper pressure.

1995 chevy caprice classic 4.3 v8 I have put new plugs, wires, coil, distributor cap, and all sensors on this car. When its cold it runs like a new one, when it gets hot it wants to skip. What could be wrong?

4.3 enginges have a notorious ploblem with the distributor failing exspecially when engine is warm. If this car has the optical distributor the optics inside fail.

1995 Chevrolet Caprice Classic won't start after

Sounds a lot like an overheated engine. The electric cooling fan should run after turning off the ignition when it is hot if this is like most vehicles and prevents heat buildup in fuel lines.
Try flooring the gas pedal and leave it there while you crank the engine. This will prevent flooding the engine with fuel and give the engine a leaner mix to start.
