If your going to work on your own vehicles, you need a basic set of tools, wrenches and sockets, standard and metric sizes. Generally it's cheaper to buy a set.

I'm thinking 15mm,but, I could be wrong.

Overfilled oil

Not good! Overfilling the oil sump can cause foaming and loss of oil pressure. Open the drain plug and drain out however much you need to for it to be at full mark. Kind of messy; have rags handy.

Find oil drain plug in 02 chevy trailblazer

Under the front middle of the engine, will need to remove a access panel it has two screws holding it in place. Once you remove the cover you will see it.

Center the oil drain pan beneath the oil drain plug and then remove the plug with a 15-mm wrench, turning it in a counterclockwise motion. Allow the oil to drain for several minutes until it slowly drips from the plug hole.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I'll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using Fixya, and have a nice day.

How to change the oil in a 2002 chevy trailblazer

Get the oil, and filter first then get it up on jack stands. On the side of the oil pan is a 15mm bolt, remove that bolt and drain the oil. Once that is done put the bolt back in and tighten it up. Next locate the oil filter and spin off counter clockwise, let all the oil drain and then take the new filter and dab a little of the used oil on your finger and smear it on the new seal for the new filter. Tighten up the new filter and then take the car off the jacks. Pop the oil filler cap and add oil. Once you have done that start the car for 60 seconds then turn it off and check your oil level. Add more oil if needed. Then your done.
