The fuel pressure regulator or the Mass Airflow sensor are common problems with the 240, and will cause these symptoms.

My Hyundai 1999 model CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ALWAYS ON AND THE FUEL CONSUMPTION IS HIGH.

Do you have black smoke or what looks like soot coming out of the tail pipe. The check engine light monitors fuel pressure through the computer and pressure regulator. It will come on if the pump pressure is too high or too low. If the pressure regulator is faulty it could cause excessive fuel consumption,

My 2000 model rx300 fuel consumption is high what coul be the reasons 8

try running a tank of fuel with an addative in , get one that covers the catalytic convertor as well as the valves' injectors etc , take for a long drive at a highish speed to get the engine to a good working temperature , you may have to repeat this a couple of times but should help with the fuel consumption at the end of it

My 2002 buick regal is becoming hrrible in gas mileage since around one year. maybe it is making around 8 miles per galon maximum. what could be the reason

First have you replaced the fuel filter, air filter, tune it up, does it blow black smoke is the tail pipe black if so you might have a bad map sensor. Check for leaks, have you replaced your timing belt. Bad timing will cause a fuel consumption.

A full gas tank only last less than 400 miles on highway on my armada

Most cars are designed to travel 300 miles on a tank of gas. If you think your fuel consumption is too high, may be time for an air filter, tune up, and check the tires for the proper inflation.

Engine surges, black smoke from tailpipe, and excessive fuel consumption

Hi,black smoke from tail pipe is unburned fuel ( excessive fuel consumption ) so your not firing on all cylinders!!! ( that's where the surging is coming from ) if i recall the 88 model has a carburetor.( not tbi,or injected) but either way its going to be in the spark! start with the easiest/cheapest and work your way up... will be like a #1.bad spark plug wire, or #2.bad plug, #3.bad distributor cap,#4.bad distributor rotor,#5 bad electronic distributor module. will be one or more of those items that's bad.......good luck..yz-maniac

1992 jeep grand cherokee high fuel consumption

If the tail smoke is blueish (not dark and sooty) and the engine runs right then it's a leak. Put the car on a clean flat surface, start the engine and look for the leak - start with the fuel tank.

2001 E220 CDI exhaust tail pipe black smoke on acceleration

Black smoke is almost always an indication that the air/ fuel mix (ratio), is too rich. I would try to find out if the just cleaned the injectors or were they replaced. Cleaning injectors and sometimes leave irregularly shaped orifices. Besure the air filter is clean. This can effect mix also.
Good Luck and hope this helps.

¿¿¿Engine computer Dead???

hi as for the fuel tank problem ? this is a vacumm problem created by the fuel pump workinh hard to draw fuel thus creating a vacuum inside tank suggest you ckeck the ventilation pipe from tank (under n/s/r wing along side filler pipe to see it is not kinked or blocked preventing tank to breath as pump draws fuel ?? as for excess fuel consumption? have you checked the air filter? remove it and check underneath ! this will give smoke you mention and you will have to press throttle more to overcome restriction air flow so more gas is more fuel used and little air to engine ? if you say engine stalls this is probably a result of tank vacuum and more fuel than air ?? hope this helps you sort it?
