Fan belts how do i replace the fan belts?

There is a spring loaded belt tensioner. Use the appropriate tool to release the tension on the belt Remove the belt , paying attention to the belt routing and replace the old belt with the new belt.

IT should not be necessary to do this. Loosen off the belt /belts and when you have the one needing replacement place a section of the belt over a fan blade and turn the fan and place the belt over the next blade and son until all the belt is in front of the fan. pull the belt out from In front of the fan. Replace the belt buy by a reverse procedure.

FAN NOT WORKING

It can be issue with faulty motor or its faulty fan control relay.

Bother are to be inspected.

Test volt at fan relay and fan motor.

how do you get in to replace the belts? Do you have to remove the fan?

2000 maxima doesnt have a fan belt. fans are powered by 2 fan motors. 1 motor per fan. no belts to replace for fan.

You shouldn't have to remove the fan in order to replace the alternator or belt.

You can do it. If it takes longer than 10 minutes something is wrong. If its a V8 make sure the tensioner is good, Fan belts rarely just "break" so check all the pulleys.

U shouldnt need too remove the fan to replace the belt. all u need too do is work the belt around the fan blades.
