According to the owners' manual- on my 2002 Solara-this problem should be solved with a few new fuses-I replaced two bad ones-but seat will only go back-not forward. It is almost too far back for me to drive comfortably. Meaning-initially-it was all the way down until it practically touched the back seat-but-it won't go up anymore? Any suggestions?
If the seat track mechanism has play, it is possible that it is binding up because it reached the rearward limit of its travel, stalling the motor. You can try having someone <carefully> force the seat forward from behind as you engage the "forward" function of the switch. This may be enough to "unbind" the mechanism- if this is the issue.
Otherwise, it is likely that the forward function of the ower seat switch is no longer working. You could try to spray some electrical contact cleaner into the switch (being careful not to stain the seat upholstery), let it dry and then try the switch again, possibly wiggling it as you push it forward. If this works, it is likely a temporary fix and you should replace the switch to prevent it happening again.

The front seatblet retractor springs have weakened. Unfortunatly, there are no "user serviceable parts" on them. They would have to be replaced. How many miles is on it? If you have low mileage, the Toyota Customer Experience Center may provide you some assistance, as the belt replacements are quite expensive. I'd call the CEC and explain your dilemma. SOURCE: Aftermarket Catalytic Converter for 2002 Toyota Solara (camry)
You can Install ANY Catalytic Converters that you wish on the Car. There are only Sensors Before the Converters. The only forseen Problem that I can see is: Do you have Smog Tests in the Area Where you live???? If so, You may have no Choice but to Install the Expensive ones or it May not Pass the Emissions Smog Tests. Here in Oklahoma, We do Not have Smog Tests and can Run any Exhaust that we Want But, Not everywhere in the US Is like this. Please Rate My Response! Thanks!

You have a failed component in the transmisssion, have it tested for a potential fault code.

The most likely problem, if both circuits are out is the flasher unit. You can locate it behind the drivers kick panel close to the top.

Does the motor, when attempting to move it forward, do anything, anything at all?
I think that you may have it "too far back", and it's stuck there.
I have done this more than a few times:
Have someone with some strength get in the back seat. You get in the front seat. Engage the forward movement, and have the back seat guy PUSH, with his knees and arms, the seat forward.
This may help. Please get back to me if it does/does not.
Note if the seat goes backward, all of the fuses are good.
