A3 power surges

My 2005 audi a3 automatic/tiptronic diesel appears to surge at about 2000revs usually when cruising while I am about to accelerate. This results in the rev counter jumping from about 2 to 2.5 000 revs and the speed also increases quickly before settling again. It can do this several times with only a slight pressure applied to theaccelerator position.I`m not putting the pedal to the floor, only giving it a soft push.

Any ideas??

Run the fault codes
could be a transmission actuator problem as it senses vacuum changes when moving the accelerator and tries to change ratios ( 2000 to 2500 rpm indicates a ratio change which is the speed increase momentarily until the Transmission range sensor puts it back in the correct ratio for the road speed
check the wiring to the transmission
it is a sensor problem not a transmission failing

it could be a dirty IAC (idle air control vavle.) Take of the air duct work from the throttle body. Using a good cleaner or enginr Top cleaner.Run the car at about 1000 RPMs spary the cleaner directly into the IAC which is located right straight in the throttle body.turn engine off. let the cleaner sit for a few miniutes. then repeat procedure. if that does not work, remove the vavle and spray cleaner directly into the two holes on the valve.

SOURCE: Car petrol engine revolution surges.

Here is the most common cause of surges and stalls, it is the idle speed control air-bypass valve and throttle valve, they get full of gunk over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.

sounds like you have either a bad sensor, or maybe a vacuum leak. is your check engine light on? if so, then try to have somebody plug in a code reader to find the trouble codes, and that will be a very good starting point. repost the information that you get, and well be able to help you out a little better. if there is no check engine light, then you most likely have a vacuum leak. maybe a cracked hose, or a hose that came off of its fitting? its time consuming, but a visual inspection of all of the vacuum lines is the best way to find this problem, without having to take your truck to a mechanic.

I have a Audi a6 2001- tiptronic gear box. When I'm stopped to a traffic light and i try to leave a little bit faster(accelerate a little bit harder) suddenly all the power is gone, and is coming back...

Have the alternator tested. Sounds like the alternator is surging. Replace it, and possibly the battery (check date on battery) If more than a year old, I recommend replacing it. If alternator tests bad, it will need replaced.

Car will not speed up when revs go up on automatic a3 diesel audi when i pull over and stop engine it drives ok then after 5 miles it looses speed even though revs are normal

Start by checking the fluid level, some of these dont have a dip stick and get low on trany fluid and cause this problem, i would start with that first then scan computer to see if any codes are stored and last would be an over haul of trany.
