1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo a/c clutch will not stay on.

After realizing my a/c was not distributing any cool air I went to my local auto parts store and purchased a kit to recharge the coolant. The a/c clutch started to engage after I added some coolant. I filled the system until I reached the recommended pressure. The clutch then started to engage for about 2 seconds at a time in roughly 5-10 second intervals. I still don't have any cold air. Is this something I can remedy without a mechanic?

Put more in. Keep adding untill it won't take any more. You can't over do it with those cans. It'll either work or you'll find the leak if it really has one.

My 1999 limited does this. When i bought it off the guy he said that its because of some flap down by the passengers left foot. In mine the passenger air barely even blows because of this.

You need to check the compressor, it sounds like the unit is low on gas. You can try to clean the filter that should be situated behinf the cubby hole on the passenger side. It should be a cartridge filter that you can pull out.

1996 Jeep Cherokke 5.2 grand laredo, missing on acceleration found loose distributer need to set timing.

Base (initial) ignition timing is NOT adjustable. Do not attempt to adjust ignition timing by rotating the distributor. All ignition timing functions are controlled by the Powertrain Control Module.Adjusting the timing on a Jeep Grand Cherokee requires special tools and an understanding of engine mechanics. Changing the timing on a Jeep Grand Cherokee with distributor-less ignition requires professional reprogramming of the powertrain control module. This guide covers Jeep Grand Cherokee models with distributed ignition only. you can go to this site and it will explain it. www.ehow.com/how_4521340_adjust-timing-jeep have a good day !!

1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo AC blower wont work on high

I'd check the relay and the resistor ...don't have a location for yours but the resistor is always installed into the heater box so it stays cool. you can usually follow the wiring back to the relay as it's generally nearby. Resistor looks like a piece of circuit board material with several wires connected to it with two screws holding it to the heater box so it sits flush except for the wires. It has several coils inside...any that are broken have failed.
