Wet carpet under front Passenger seat

The Heater pipe/hose under the front Passenger seat leaks water and the carpet is perpetually wet.
i have been told this could be a blocked vent line of the AC. where the condensating mosture from the condenser has to get out soemwhere, it backs up and exits down the heater pipe under the front seat.
It is not related to weather, i.e rain getting in through the pipe,I run the AC most of the time and have stuck a towl under the hose to absorb the water, and it is soaked after a couple of days.
It is only the passenger side.
There are no holes (rust) in the floor, it is definately coming out the pipe.....
Any ideas?

Thanks
Gary

You have drain blockage in the condesor case itself. There is a small tube that will drain the condensor case, the big black plastic case that contains most of your a/c system inside the car. This case collects moisture and that must drain normally from the case drain to the outside of your car onto the ground.. If this drain is plugged, you will have leakage on to the floor. If the moisture is allowed to remain in the carpet, mildew will set in and then you will have to replace the carpet.

I have a 2017 Mitsubishi marshes g4 the carpet on the passenger side is really wet

How wet is the foot well? This is likely to be one of two things. Door seal rubber or the Heater matrix.
Try this bit of detective work. Does it only get wet when it rains heavily? Is it just the front that is wet? Feel the carpet in the foot well. How high up the foot well carpet does the wetness go? Does the wetness smell of anything? Do you have a sun roof fitted? Sun roofs have drain holes that can clog up so the rain pools up in the grooves and runners then over spills inside the vehicle.
If it only gets wet after rain it could be a worn out door seal rubber or the sun roof letting water in. Door seals usually cause shallow pools of water so the wetness won't rise very high up the carpet. The sun roof sometimes causes the seats to get wet as well.
If it is wet all the time, the wetness rises high up into the foot well and it has a 'sweet' smell, it could be the small radiator unit,(the Heater Matrix), behind the dashboard that supplies heat to the heater blowers leaking. Depending on where exactly it is fitted you'll sometimes get wetness in both front foot wells. The smell is the coolant from the engine.
Hope this helps.

2006 Dodge Grand Caravan. The carpet is soaking wet under the driver and the front passenger seats. What could cause this?

If it smells like anti freeze your heater core is bad. If it's just water then your windshield or doors are leaking.

Test heater core

Robert,
Using a cooling system pressure test tool to pressurize the entire cooling system, a heater core will leak into the HVAC [heater, ventilation and air conditioning] box [located under the dash board]. Once coolant leaks into this box, it will either drop onto the carpeting on the passenger side front floor OR drip out the condensate tube [where the A/C condensate water leaks out under the truck] The condensate tube is a rubber pipe located on the lower end of the passenger side firewall.
Leakage into the passenger carpet [most common place for it to leak] will appear as a wet carpet.
If heater core replacement is required, do yourself a favor. Buy and install a new A/C evaporator [located in the HVAC box with the heater core] at the same time. This is a big job to do. No sense replacing the heater core now, only to have the A/C evaporator fail next summer, forcing you to repeat all that labor [8 hours for a pro mechanic who knows what he is doing].

Water is leaking and we change the water pump

A thorough visual inspection of all cooling system components is necessary to find the leak. Check all coolant hoses and pipes, check the radiator in particular where the hoses connect (top and bottom), feel the carpet on the passenger side front floor, if it's wet then your heater core is leaking. Also you mentioned replacing the water pump check there the gasket may not have sealed and could be leaking around the flange. Hope this helps.

Please rate my advise.

Publication Date: January 17, 2006

ISSUE: Some 2005 Freestyle vehicles may exhibit a water leak at the right front passenger compartment. This may be due to grommet for rear washer fluid line at dash not being fully seated.
ACTION: Inspect windshield washer grommet from inside vehicle under dash and properly seat if out of position. Pull carpet back and reach under bulkhead pad to install. Removal of instrument panel is not required. (Figure 1)

My 99 Tacoma extended cab sr5 4x4 has a water leak tha i cannot seem to find. My heat blows fine and I do not think it's my heater core. Anyone else have this problem? Both my driver and passenger front...

Hi, look at this way ,,,, it's wet on both sides on the inside of cabin. Gravity being what it is , check the heater cowling below the heater matrix for (water) dampness. On a bad day there are only two hoses coming thru the engine bulkhead ,,, to the heater matrix , so do the maths yourself . A pressure tester will expose any weak / vunerable hose connection. Good Luck

Seat Alhambra 1996 1.9L water leak drivers footwell

the water can travel along surfaces or beams in the car so you cannot tell where it is actually leaking. in my ford windstar water leaked in right over the fuse box. it ran along a cross beam from the passenger side. if it has those plastic strips they use to go in between small gaps in the metal... like along the roof where the roof is and the metal of the sides joins it is likely they are leaking. best to take a garden hose and have someone inside the car with a flashlight on the floor looking for leaks

Water leaking into 2005 Camry 6 cyl under carpet drivers side.

I think that I can help you. It sounds like your drain-tube is plugged up. Get in the passenger side, and pull the carpet back from under the glove box. Look for a black rubber pipe that goes from a black box, and pokes thru the firewall, on the passenger side. Remove the hose from the box, and have a container ready to catch water. If water comes out of the black box, your drain hose is plugged up. Clean out the clog, and you will be golden.

Front passenger side carpet getting wet

The AC evaporator units have a drain hose that runs through the floor because condensed moisture is a fact of life with AC units. Yours is plugged. You will have to get under the vehicle and look for the hose where it comes out, then take like coat hanger wire and clean it out, It is somewhere in the vicinity of where the passenger foot well meets the fire wall. If you have to raise the vehicle to get under it, make certain you have it safely supported. If you don't have the stuff, drive the passenger side wheels up on a good curb and use some cardboard to slide under.
