Srs light on dashboard on mercedes e320 1999

Srs light used to go on every so often when people sat in the passenger side seat. now it is on permanently. how do you reset the srs light on the dash to turn off. thank you.steven

    bought the E320 new in 2000 the SRS light on ever since Dealer reset it but good for only a few weeks now i dont bother with it

SRS is not DIY. I strongly suggest you go to a reputable repairer an have it scanned and unless you are very competent Auto Tech leave it to them to repair.The SRS lamp is warning you that the Supplimentry Restraint System has a fault and will NOT funtion if you have an accident. Therfore you don't have this as a backup with your seatbelts .There is a good chance that it is the pressure pad in the passengers seat as has been suggested along with loom and module failures.

If it was going on and off as the seat was being used, then it sounds like the sensor in the seat, this can be changed but the upholstery has to come off, best thing take it in and have the it put on to merc’s computer,

You need to have the airbag system checked...srs stands for supplemental restraint system....as long as that light is o the airbag may or may not work or may go off when it shouldnt

SRS light
We had the seat pan replaced on the passenger side because the SRS indication came on. My wife put her knee right in the middle of the seat, probably breaking the sensor, while assisting the kids in the back seat.
